Adams cover of “Wonderwall” is quite good too. I am not a guitar player but my brother who is informed me that the finger picking on his version is quite impressive.
I don't know the Boo Radleys... The thread tonight and LCD convo is changing my tune on group project.Oooo The Boo Radleys 'Giant Steps' is my new album. Love this one, and one I've been waiting to get a vinyl repress.
Yeah I also know there's no way I'd ever keep up with the group project.I don't know the Boo Radleys... The thread tonight and LCD convo is changing my tune on group project.
I mean, if I'm keeping up with this.... I'll have what 15 records baked in and I'm gonna not have a weekend pick on the group project. It's manageable. The couple of folks who have mentioned they are gonna do both areYeah I also know there's no way I'd ever keep up with the group project.
I also think the ability to go back takes some pressure off.Yeah I also know there's no way I'd ever keep up with the group project.
Yeah, I like to try to keep it in context of all the other shithead artist like Hemmingway, Bukowski, Picasso, etc.. that we’re terrible humans but amazing artists.I like this, we're all bonding over our love and hate for Mr. Adams. It's cute. We're cute.
Also....
IT'S COMPLICATED!
At least Hemmingway was honest about his shittiness and that's a part of why his art is so good.Yeah, I like to try to keep it in context of all the other shithead artist like Hemmingway, Bukowski, Picasso, etc.. that we’re terrible humans but amazing artists.
I also would never judge anyone who didn’t enjoy Adams or any other artist because of their shittiness.
At least John Prime and Kurt Vonnegut seem like very lovely humans as well as artists.
Yeah he’s one of mine too. What’s TYE?That's also a thing to think about. Hemmingway is one of my favorite authors. This is like the TYE conversation all over again.
Rising artist from back in the day for VMP. Hip Hop, amazing voice, okay flow. Guy had some depression issues. Album was working through that a bit. However, there was a lot of gunplay talk and misogyny. I had issues with that, especially given that it wasn't anything "Real" for the artist. Made me think hard about why it is distasteful for an artist to portray themself as a fictional character in one genre (hip hop) but not have a problem with it in another (specifically rock). This lead to a protracted conversation about Guns N Roses vs "fake" hard MCs. I actually didn't listen to GNR for some time after it. I eventually got a copy of Appetite from udiscover for free and was able to come back to it.Yeah he’s one of mine too. What’s TYE?
Actuallly…I wonder if there are any interviews with Adams where he discusses his behavior in the light of his art. I'd be curious to read something like that.
Just found that through google and am gonna give it a read instead of working... lol.Actuallly…

Two years after a series of #MeToo allegations turned him into a pariah, the struggling singer is finally breaking his silence. But does anyone want to hear what he has to say?www.lamag.com
I think this article is fairly objective but Adams does come off as a bit sympathetic in that his life seems to be fairly sad since all the shit came to light.Actuallly…
