Another BN80 deal from Amazon warehouse: $13.65 "like new"

Amazon product ASIN B07WPX47FJ
One tip though: click button "ship in amazon packaging" at checkout since the warehouse has recently shipped a couple of LPs to me in nothing but a plastic bag.
“Like New” was somehow code word for mint condition - factory sealed but they decided to pack it into a plastic bag and stuff it in my mail slot so View attachment 84569
I grabbed this too, and in almost exactly the same condition. The vinyl was super dirty and paper marks all over it, doesn't sound awful but definitely not "like new". Mine came in a bag too.

I’m returning it and gonna pass on Art Blakey. Can’t stand when vinyl arrives in this condition
Didn't realize this shipping in a bag issue had become so common. I'll stop posting any amazon warehouse deals until they start shipping in proper mailers again. The two I have recently received in a bag, which of course inevitably got damaged, got refunded and then I "escalated" the complaint both times and CS assured me they'd contact the warehouse and correct the problem, etc. But of course, it's amazon, so I really doubt a customer service agent (often in India) actually has a way to do so.

It's really flabbergasting that anyone can think that's a proper way to pack a fragile item! Never ceases to amaze me when a plastic bag with a record shows up on my door, my Pink Floyd DSOTM showed up like that last week, fortunately with no issues but still. Its crazy.

I have been lucky and never had Amazon.ca ship in the padded mailer (though others have). The only time I get crap shipping like that is when Amazon drop ships directly from a US warehouse

I don't know if it's the international shipping, but my Amazon packages always come way overpackaged. Usually a bunch of record mailers (one per record) inside a big box, sometimes with padding paper on top of that as well.

It's a mixed bag w Amazon. Some ship well packaged, and some come in the bags. I have two copies of Blakey "Indestructible" bc of this. One came in bag and was damaged like the photo above. That was delivered to an Amazon hub, so I opened the package and handed it back to them for a return, without leaving.

Here's the best part: I asked for a replacement instead of a refund, and they sent THE SAME DAMAGED COPY!!! (also in a plastic bag/envelope). This time I waited to return it until I got a new replacement, and then they told me to just keep the damaged copy.

Amazon.ca is super hit or miss. I feel like it's just Karma coming back at me for giving them my money.
My top three Amazon horror stories from last year:

I got a record from Amazon.ca that was just a label put on the shrink for a record. No mailer. Oddly, other than a small corner crunch, the record was in pretty good condition.

I had to return my 2LP Rocktober Marquee Moon twice (1st time was the completely wrong record, then they sent the 1LP version), third time had a bent jacket corner, but sounded great so I gave up and kept it.

And I pre-ordered Wildflowers through them. It took two months to ship it. Only to cancel two days after shipping saying it was damaged in transit. Of course the price is now $20 more.

It does make me enjoy No Buy 2021.

If you have seen anything about working on Amazon packaging plants, you would quickly realize why they do this...it’s all about packaging things as quickly as humanly possible so they can get you items next day or within 2 days.

Right - fast, and cheapest. It always astonishes me that people want free shipping, but top level packing as well. You won't get it from Amazon, for free!

I'll never order anything rare/limited from Amazon because I've gotten multiple records from Amazon with just the shipping label slapped on the outside of the record. I'll still order from them occasionally with a deal because if something arrives damaged, they just let me keep it and send a new one if they have it. Amazon Warehouse is the worst to order from but sometimes you can get really great deals. I think I got the Beatles Esher Demos box for something like $20 "like new" but it arrived still sealed in shrink with no damage whatsoever.

Amazon is about 75% good for me, but man that 25% where it isn't can be awful. But for $15 deals, I'll run the risk most times.
