The Blue Note Thread

Which shop?
it was called Time Warp records or something? In Calicoon, NY. I think it's pretty new and owned by the same people as a vintage clothing shop nearby. Prices were ALL over the place. They had some really beat up stuff for $50+ (early Nina Simone albums that were VG/G+ at best). Had some early Monk titles that weren't in great shape for $300+ and other stuff like that. then had this mono for $30. And they were cash only.

Did I just make a mistake ordering Somethin’ Else with Out To Lunch in the 20% off sale. SE is awaiting a repress right? 😒

Well that's not listening to the TP then.
Right, but for those of us who may not be familiar with particular albums that are being released as Tone Poets, and with the experience-based assumptions that the vinyl and sound quality will be very good, listening to another format is just a way to help decide whether it's a title to purchase. I'm assuming that's what @Ghost was commenting on--the quality of the session.

Yeah of course. Just saying it's misleading to say you're listening to the TP. You're not. You're streaming the album. That's all.

Thanks. MMW is a top 5 band for me. I’ve seen them at least a couple dozen times since 1997. I picked up the VMP Univinvisible and The Dropper (both great), and I own Free Magic on vinyl. What I want most is my fav album and their BN debut, Combustication. I have a fantasy that they’ll reissue some kind of special edition w/ live material from that tour or extra material. I’ll buy it eventually, regardless.

Yea top five band for me also. It’s the Dropper that I want. Also Friday afternoon would be great but , I doubt anything will be done with the Gramavision catalogue.
