For a city that prides itself as the “12 Man” this game tonight almost sounds like a Niners home game.
Niner fans travel extremely well but I'm shocked at how many are at the game tonightFor a city that prides itself as the “12 Man” this game tonight almost sounds like a Niners home game.
I think Seattle fans are by and large fair-weather. It’s funny because when they are good everyone goes notes but the second they aren’t a playoff team everyone bails.Niner fans travel extremely well but I'm shocked at how many are at the game tonight
Hard disagree on this one. As a lifelong Seahawks fan I can confirm that our fanbase has loyally suffered through the lean years. I'm sure we have a LOT of new fans picked up in the Legion of Boom years and some younger fans may not remember the Boz getting pancaked by Bo Jackson but every fan I know bleeds blue. And when they play again in SF later this year you'll see just as much blue in stands as you saw red last night.I think Seattle fans are by and large fair-weather. We Bears fans are miserable bastards but even during their worst seasons we still show up even if it’s just to boo.
The outcome of the game yesterday was not shocking Gino was off all night. The thing that surprised me was that there were a LOT of red in the stands. I get that Niners fans have a big fan base but I have never seen another fan base drown out The Twelves at home before. I moved to the PNW the year Russell Wilson was drafted and saw the excitement and pride the fan base had during the Legion of Boom years was immense but last season they didn’t make the playoffs and parted way with Carroll and now it feels like a good chunk of fans that used to fill up Lumen and make it uncomfortably loud have bailed.Hard disagree on this one. That's not to say that they didn't look crappy last night (our OL has been shit for a decade) and I'm definitely not suggesting our fans are at all comparable to Bears fans, who have been through a LOT over the years. At least we can share our memories of Rick Mirer.
Holy Fucking Tibia…
Poor Hutch! Dude has been awesome. Hopefully he can make a full recovery.
@ranbalam this has been a rough sports week. First the Tigers and now this. Sorry man!
If he's out an extended period it's obviously a huge loss but the offense seems primed to come out of plenty of duels still on topJust awful. He's the motor in this defense, he'a going to be missed terribly. Hopefully it's not career ending.
The Tigers over-achieved, definitely had a blast watching some playoff baseball. I'm hopeful for their future.
Can you imagine the force his leg had to be going to snap like that? It’s wild. This isn’t the olden days, I bet he will be back to nearly full speed by the beginning of next season.Just awful. He's the motor in this defense, he'a going to be missed terribly. Hopefully it's not career ending.

Would you be ok with McCarthy being fired? As an outside observer, it doesn't seem like they are playing that hard for him.I've gotten to the point in my Cowboys fandom that I love when a team blows us out. It won't change much because it all goes back to Jerry Jones running the team. He'll fire McCarthy, maybe this week. He'll bring in the next retread/puppet. They'll do next to nothing in the playoffs. Rinse, repeat.
Besides the fact that Jerry Jones would rather make headlines on ESPN than win, they're at a disadvantage because they spend cash like broke boys instead of being the most valuable franchise in American sports. Which is a shame (not really, eagles fan here) because they've seemingly crushed drafting over the past few years.I've gotten to the point in my Cowboys fandom that I love when a team blows us out. McCarthy isn't great by any stretch but Jerry gave him next to nothing to work with. Derrick Henry was available, lives in Dallas in the offseason, and wasn't that expensive. Instead, Jerry brings in the comfort pick with bringing back Zeke. McCarthy isn't the problem, he's a symptom. The problem will forever be Jerry Jones until he no longer controls the team which only happens when he no longer breathes air.Would you be ok with McCarthy being fired? As far as Jones, I feel for you; you guys are stuck with him for the time being.
Well he knew he "had" to resign Dak and get Ceedee Lamb an extension. I put it quote marks because he didn't need to do either of those. Dak is just not a great QB who will go down and win you a game. The problem is there's very few of them in the NFL and the whole dark period between Troy Aikman retiring and lucking into Romo still sticks with him. So he overpays Dak which further leverages the future. Dak isn't Mahomes or Lamar Jackson. He's not a singular player who is going to guide you to a victory because he's a winner. He's a good to semi-great QB that will do well when he's surrounded with talent at WR, TE, and RB. Only the WR position is good on this team and that's really just two players. It's just a massive non-stop crap fest. I gave up letting it get me angry a few years ago. I think my Texas Longhorns getting back to being a great program helped with that. There's so much wrong with the Cowboys that will only change when Jerry is gone and that guy just seems to be like Keith Richards in terms of longevity.Besides the fact that Jerry Jones would rather make headlines on ESPN than win, they're at a disadvantage because they spend cash like broke boys instead of being the most valuable franchise in American sports. I don't think the issue is resigning either, it's waiting until the last possible minute to do so when you have no leverageMcCarthy isn't great by any stretch but Jerry gave him next to nothing to work with. It’s gonna be weird saying this but Pace and the Bears front office has actually done a good job with this, they took care of Sweat, Johnson, and Kmet last year before they had to and this preseason they paid DJ Moore before he was due.I don't think the issue is resigning either, it's waiting until the last possible minute to do so when you have no leverage
Ownership willing to spend large amounts of cash up front is the largest market inefficiency in the NFL outside of an elite QB on a rookie contractIt’s gonna be weird saying this but Pace and the Bears front office has actually done a good job with this, they took care of Sweat, Johnson, and Kmet last year before they had to and this preseason they paid DJ Moore before he was due.
It’s stupid not to sign the stars and pay them before they are due. The way the Cap keeps raising and the league keeps finding new ways to generate revenue (an 18th game will be here before too long). The earlier you sign em the less it’s gonna cost plus they are actually worth what they are being paid. Look at Mahomes’ deal, 3 years ago people blown away by how much he was paid even though he earned every penny; but now in a world where Dak and Tua and Trevor Lawrence are getting $60M a year that deal seems like a steal.
That was the most painful W I have ever seen in my life. Burrow going into the medical tent was the cherry on top.
I am not convinced that CIN can turn it around. Next week against a divisional foe that Burrow has one win against as a starter (I don't care that Watson has been the most abysmal QB in the NFL by all metrics this season).
This was cool tho:
