The football thread RenegadeMonster is looking for: NFL talk

After the election, last night's game, and half of my family being sick I think I'm officially dead inside.
Joe Burrow in the midst of a literal MVP level campaign and it's going to be thrown in the dumpster because the defense breaks down at the worst time (little to no pass rush outside of Trey Hendrickson, thin CB depth, question marks at LB). If the team record were at the very least reversed at 6-4 instead, he would likely be leading that poll.

The fact that they whiffed on any DL help at the deadline was so frustrating. Can you imagine how much more dominant Trey could be if he had ANY help whatsoever?

Yeah, Burrow and Lamar are both playing an incredibly high level of football. I'm not counting the Bengals out just yet, but if they don't get it together I don't think Joe will stick around for much longer wasting his prime.

My 13 year old daughter’s softball team is doing a Thanksgiving NFL squares fundraiser. $25 gets you a square in all 3 Turkey Day NFL games. Prizes for each game are:

1st qtr > 50
Half > 75
3rd qtr > 50
Final > 225

So 1 square is 12 chances to win.

PM me if anyone is interested and I will get you Venmo info and send out the board to you once numbers are drawn before Thanksgiving.

I don't think any difference making DLs were traded this year to compare it to, but last year Seahawks traded for Leonard Williams with a 2nd and 5th. Seems kinda steep for a team that is already at a fairly low odds to make the playoffs. Assuming they split with the Steelers, they basically have to win out the rest of the games to make it in. Certainly frustrating to waste the last year of Chase's rookie cap hit. Hindsight and all but probably should have traded Higgins instead of losing him for nothing besides a comp pick later.

I find it crazy that Dallas decides to blind players by the sun for an entire half when they could simply just not do that
The more amazing part is multiple media members have wrote about it and brought it up to Jerry Jones before and he acts like you just can't put up something to combat that. When that stadium hosts a concert, there are giant blinds that cover that end with the setting sun. When this thing was being built, my local sports radio morning show was invited out to get a tour. One of the hosts asked the chief architect if he realized the sun would set on one of the endzones for a late afternoon game. The architect dismissed his concerns. That host will tweet a picture anytime a player can't see because of the sunlight coming in. The only reason it was oriented like that was so Jerry Jones could have a vanity project that faced both Dallas and Fort Worth. I utterly hate that stadium and have only been there a few times back when it first opened. I have zero desire to ever return.

Is this bad?

To wit, the chief of the clown show:

A frustrated Jerry Jones had some comments about the sun impacting play at AT&T Stadium: “By the way, we know where the sun is going to be when we decide to flip the coin or not. We do know where the damn sun is going to be in our own stadium.”Why not put up curtains over the windows?Jerry: “Well let’s tear the damn stadium down and build another one? Are you kidding me?“Everybody has got the same thing. Every team that comes in here has the same issues.“I’m saying, the world knows where the sun is. You get to know that almost a year in advance. Someone asked me about the sun. What about the sun? Where’s the moon?”

The Bears are “Bearsing” all over the place. They are finishing up the “easy” part of their schedule at 4-5 and haven’t scored a TD in the past two games against the Cardinals and Patriots.

Pretty disappointing. This offense has too much talent to be this inept even being down 4 of their their starting 5 O-Lineman, they are making things much tougher than they need to be.
