The football thread RenegadeMonster is looking for: NFL talk

I'm absolutely against a college style OT because RedZone offense does not equal football, but I'd love for the other team to get another possession to get a TD.
Penalty Kicks aren’t Soccer either but at least both sides get a shot. Let em play a 6 minute OT period and if it’s still tied after that go to college rules w/ mandatory two point conversions.

I’m glad the Chiefs won, but OT was a little anticlimactic. I didn’t like it when the Pats won it that way 4 years ago either. They should change it to both teams get at least 1 possession regardless of what happens on the first drive.

Josh Allen is a damn monster.

Next week, I’m outnumbered here by all the Cinci fans, but hopefully that game is half as entertaining as this one.

Since the Saints are totally out, I am officially for Cincinnati. I want Joe to go all the way.
As much as I want this to materialize as a CIN fan, I'm not sure it will happen. The OL will have a difficult task ahead of them, and should be embarrassed by their play in the last game.

The offensive skill positions are more than capable, and the defense can be opportunistic. I'm hoping that the game plan will be adjusted to give the pass catchers a chance on short and intermediate routes rather than gunning for the homerun passes.

This season is everything I could have ever hoped for as a fan, and I am simply happy to see where the Bengals are at compared to two seasons ago.

And that's why Golden Goal >>>>>

It should be to play indefinite football to match the last possession until one team wins. At least during the playoffs.
I am not opposed to this to an extent but I don’t think teams should have to play 6 hour games either. This is where not having a minor league hurts the NFL. If this was baseball they could test out different solutions. College OT isn’t perfect but it’s better than NFL OT as it’s currently constructed.

Think he ends up the Cowboys HC?
He's still under contract in NOLA until 2024. The smartest thing for us to do is let him leave but have him remain under contract so that we don't have to play against him (and this is why I doubt the Saints organization will let him break the contract). From what I understand, he's looking for a network gig.
