Yelp, it showed up but…

I contacted Dead customer service. What are my odd s a getting them to send me a new box only? From what folks here have implied I feel like my prospects aren’t great.
That sucks dude. Sorry to hear. I am half surprised my wasn't in the same shape. Our packages were probably travel buddies. I get so many packages from the USPS here that look like they were used as Frisbees. Worth a shot reaching out but I wouldn't hold my breath. :cautious:

Nabbed the Boston boxset from Plaid. Tried to resist, but failed. I don't really neeeeed more live Dead vinyl boxsets, but this run of 77 shows sounds so good. Now I guess I need to find Buffalo and complete the trifecta (already have Cornell). I did resist buying that one. I breifly had some self, control.
I sold all of my Dead boxes and have resisted since I got the Time Machine and have so many CDs, but the urge is always there. Had Boston in my hands at the store because it looked so pretty, but I don’t think I’ve ever sat and spun an entire show front to back on vinyl. Then I asked myself “am I really going to listen to one side of ‘US Blues’ or “Wharf Rat/Around and Around”?

Still, the temptation is always there!

Here's a clue about your odds. ;) I sent them a cancellation request 10 days ago (after receiving the backorder email). Haven't heard anything from them until today, when I received shipping notification. I don't have the impression they're particularly responsive, but hey, you never know.

They're the worst. It took three months for them to admit that my copy of Skull and Roses was clearly lost in the mail and then another month to respond saying they'd refund me since they didn't have any backup copies. For the money making behemoth the Dead are, their customer support on the site is atrocious.

My new favorite shirt arrived today. Never got a shipping notification so was a pleasant surprise. Shhhh lets not speak of how much it cost. ;)

Very cool!

I once went on a whale tour in coastal Washington. I witnessed a pod of orcas circle and devour a porpoise.
It's crazy how intelligent orcas are, especially when it comes to problem solving. Pretty sure they understand certain laws of Physics.

In a perfect world, I will get a replacement box (but that doesn’t seem likely) so I went ahead and went to Michael’s and picked up a couple markers to at least camouflage the damage a bit and I think it turned out alright.

I tried to cancel my order the day they sent out the emails about it being backordered, and it sure doesn't seem they were able to process that request. I got a very lengthy email from them today explaining that they couldn't respond specifically to my message, so instead they answered a dozen questions I hadn't asked. Wow. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out, and I guess I'll be fine with whatever happens since, even if it does appear to be a less-than-fully-competent system, I won't hold them responsible for my changing my mind.

Received my backordered, canceled Cornell 5.8.77 box.

Two From The Vault back in stock at Plaid Room:

Good price too, now I can complete my vault set.

opened my box now after you all got me worried and my anomaly is that, while i have all the correct LPs, my 3rd LP is considerably heavier than the others. looking through discogs, I see the original pressing was on 180 gram and this is listed as 140. my 3rd LP is definitely much heavier than the other four, so I'm wondering if they Frankensteined these things together

Interview / first song from the Billy & The Kids set last night. The interview w/ Bill starts at about the 8 minute mark, and sheds some potential light into "creative differences".

Good for Billy. He is clearly having a blast playing with new musicians, and rightfully so. Always thought Phil had one of the coolest gigs post-Dead. His lineups are always fresh and interesting, adding new flavor to the music we know and love.

Saw that Billy was sitting in with Daniel Donato tonight too, which is as fast and upbeat as you can get in the scene these days. No slowing down for him.

I just came across this auction that has a bunch of original Grateful Dead posters from back in the day. Most are already over $200, but there's some other bands in there and the artwork is cool to look at.
