The Good Ol' Grateful Thread

I think its funny that Bob is going by Bobby Weir on his socials (and on this new album). I wonder what made him decide to do that all of a sudden.

So lots of you guys probably already pre-ordered/picked up copies but just in case you hadn’t, my local got so many of the Deluxe/Limited Jerry Garcia Band Boxset in (over 80!) they dropped the price by $10 bucks so if you need a copy you can get it from them currently for $79 and free shipping

This set sounds fantastic. The press is really well done.

It really is. I just finished listening to it all they through for the 2nd time. I am glad people on here got excited about it for me my interest in the Grateful tends to tapers off towards the end of the 1980s so a live release from a 90 show where they play mostly covers wasn’t something I was really looking to check out but man both the show and recording are great and The Vinyl is damn near flawless. I don’t know if they needed to do a deluxe vs standard edition, 4 and a half discs of quality vinyl for $80 seems like a very reasonable price. I am curious about the packaging differences between the two versions because the Deluxe box is quite nice.

Reasonable prices is one of the things that the Garcia family has been way better about than the Dead. I haven't cracked open mine yet, but plan to do so in the morning. It's one of my favorite live Jerry shows in any iteration. I'm only bummed that they didn't play Ruben and Cherise at the show cause that's one I don't have on wax and would love to spin over and over.

The standard doesn’t have that cloth warp or foil. Also does not include the small inner with the photos. 140g as well instead of 180g although these don’t seem quite 180g.

Look what I just found. Classic show from their best era IMHO:

That China>Rider is so fucking good. I mean I'm sure the rest of it is as well, I just haven't listened to it in years but the middle jam between China and Rider stands out in my memory.
