The Grammy Awards Thread

Isn't Smokey Robinson still alive and likely playing your local tribal casino sometime in the next few weeks? Why not have him play instead of a tribute?

Was "EGOT" a thing prior to 30 Rock? I feel like I never heard that term prior to Tracy Jordan.

Not sure when it became a thing. The first EGOT got the status in the 60s

Oh yeah I know artist winning all those awards was a thing prior, I just dont recall anyone calling winning all 4 as an "EGOT" prior.

The EGOT acronym was coined by actor Philip Michael Thomas in late 1984, when his role on the new hit show Miami Vice brought him instant fame, and he stated a desire to achieve the EGOT within five years.[7][8] Thomas has never been nominated for any of the EGOT awards.

The term gained wider recognition in the early 2010s after a season-long arc in the 4th season of the sitcom 30 Rock featured the character of Tracy Jordan (portrayed by Tracy Morgan) setting out to achieve the EGOT.[9]

1. First time hearing a Harry Styles song, and I loved it!
2. While I admire Kim Petras tremendously, I did not love Unholy

Honestly his music is pretty solid, there is just something about him specifically that doesn’t click with me. The disconnect between what his music is and how he is marketed is just too weird for me

Totally agree with you, the chorus is cute but the song isn’t great
