The Grammy Awards Thread

I like the Beyonce album because it was her trying something different and being rewarded. And it's not fake since she's from Texas. It really screamed something that would've come out of Houston. I would've been fine with Chappell but she won Best New Artist which is great. Sabrina got Best Pop. Charli not winning was more of the shock. I like Taylor Swift more than most on here but that album was a straight up terrible effort that needed someone to tell her no more while making it. It says something that our household of people who went to see her in concert and/or at the cinema listened to that album a grand sum total of one time. It was not great and they nominated her to get Swifties to tune in. The song writing was just bad.
This is perfect. I was happy with the night and all the awards except Shakira. Personally I think Kali Ulchis deserved it, but I'm probably biased because I really like her album.

Edit; Beatles should not have won rock performance and I rolled my eyes at The Rolling Stones winning. I think it shows just how "dead" rock is as a popular genre.

I honestly don’t think the album as a whole is all that great. I’m old though, so I’m certainly not the target demographic.
My thoughts exactly on brat. Sabrina also did nothing for me. Agree that Swift album was trash.

Happy for Bey. Chappell is my favorite of the bunch. I saw Andre live on this album tour and got a mighty chuckle that it was nommed.

First year in a while we've gotten some OK rock noms and they choose the fucking Stones. Ugh.

Overall though not a bad year for the Grammys

Doechii (who I love) had my favorite performance. It was fantastic and well executed. Benson Boone (who I only tangentially know and overall music isn't my bag) had a killer performance. Janelle Monae strutted her stuff. Charli was Charli (that's a good thing). I like Billie and the song Birds of a Feather but that song is too much of a vibe for that stage.
