The NBA Thread

oh hey we won a game *checks opponent from last night*

LMAO the Lakers lost to CJ Elleby (who somehow played 43 min!), transfer student Justise Winslow, and Keljin "big nepotism" Blevins.

Dennis Smith Jr was the key in this one, great defense and filling lanes, being aggressive and running a fast break. Moments of solid play from others (Simons, Elleby, Winslow), moments of gahhhd-awful.

Rather have no deals than awful ones. Reddish will get his minutes here. Especially with RJ out for now.
I don’t disagree - Knicks are not nearly good enough to justify trading assets for an impact player, and they’d be selling low on basically anyone on their roster (other than maybe Mitch?). I think they were right to stand pat, see if they can get Randle turned around and try to make the play-in.

This team really needs a point guard though.

and i think that's why we didn't make a move. people wanted picks and we don't want to give them up unless we're getting something of value back.

i think the mitch market dried up a little this summer with the moves that were made by other teams. which bodes well for us re-signing him.

also curious about what all of dallas' moves means for brunson, who is strongly rumored to be the knicks target in the offseason. and how we may be able to get the cap space to sign him...some of our contracts are expiring (team options the following year) so might be easier to move. agree we desperately need a PG.

So far, a super entertaining all star game and the 75th anniversary ceremony at half was super well done.

Enjoyed everything about this weekend except for the slam dunk contest, which was awful.

We are watching the Dunk Contest right now and it may be the worst one I've ever seen. DJ Khalid didn't help either. They need a time limit. too much set up for little payoff.
