The Needles & Grooves May 2024 Omniversal Spin Challenge Arkestra

I still need to get to yesterday's album, work kicked my butt too much to spin yesterday. But this was a great month and the first I've been able to keep up with in a while. The biggest challenge was also my favorite part: listening to Sun Ra every day. I loved every song, except Children of the Sun which I thought was terrible, lol. But having done a deep dive into Sun Ra a few years ago, I forgot how much I love so many of his recordings. Most days after listening to the song @avecigrec picked as the prompt, I'd end up streaming Sun Ra for about an hour each day as I tried to find something to fit the prompt. Some days I got so into the Sun Ra sound that I ended up doing thread bare links to my picks because I couldn't think of anything that compared to what I was jamming to. A brilliant musician and a huge thanks to our resident Sun Ra expert and all around wonderful person, @avecigrec for an excellent month. Love you, buddy!
