Music of my Mind. In some ways Hotter Than July may be a little more accomplished and have more obvious singles but Music of My Mind is just such a wonderful example of a precocious artist begining to realise their potential and it’s just brimming with promise and creativity.

I'm way behind on this project overall, but this one's easy... it's not my favourite 5-star Stevie album, but it's still a 5-star Stevie album.

I think Songs... is still a 4 for me. I'm in the middle of listening to it right now. There are some great songs, and some I don't care for ("Contusion" being one), and it's way too long. I much prefer Talking Book and Innervisions.

Talking Book is my favorite but 2 through 7 my ranking would probably be dependent on how I was feeling in the moment.

Innervisions is probably my favourite and Talking Book is a very very close second. 3 to 5 is pretty fluid and dependent on mood. All 5 of those and a couple more are just wonderful though.

This is one of those albums like Thriller, Hysteria, etc. that just feels like a Greatest Hits record.

Such a great album! I don't think I owned this as a kid but I loved the singles, and I picked it up on vinyl a couple of years ago at a shop here in Sacramento.

Man… not to sound like the stereotypical old man (which I pretty much am), but they really don’t make them like this any more. It is definitely 80’s but also timeless. It is infectious and always makes me smile stupid huge, even though some of the songs are kind of heavy.

I didn’t really know what to expect but this was surprisingly good! I know my sister listened to this when I was a kid and had Boy George posters on her wall, but I only remember the hits.
Some songs have a pretty heavy theme (”That’s the Way”…wow!) but are delivered with such a light touch it still feels like the musical equivalent of sunshine.
Will definitly listen more to this!

That's a 5/5 80's album cover right there. Never listened to this one before so it will be an interesting listen I'm sure.

Could be a single record and still need to use some filler.

The 4 songs I do like are spectacularly good, so that just about makes up for the frankly ridiculous 105 minute runtime.
