I mean not like or just consider it to be pretty average pop of it’s time that isn’t that worthy of revisiting. It’s not like Boy George went onto be George Michael or anything.

I was noticing last night how similar Boy George and George Michael's styles were.

I think it is brilliant, especially in its updating of the Motown sound (See Church of the Poison Mind, especially) but also in showcasing Helen Terry and Steve Grainger. It is very much the New Romantic album. Listening last night I also wonder how much Prince told Rosie Gaines to sound like Terry.

I consider it a 5/5 and I think you should give it a listen. Especially if you haven't listened in years.

"Karma Chameleon" was a staple of my childhood thanks to my father, so I have a lot of nostalgia for that. The album as a whole is pretty good as well. 4/5
favs: It's A Miracle, Karma Chameleon, Church of the Poison Mind, Miss Me Blind (the 4 Hot 100 hits from this album, kudos for that)
least fav: Victims

I got this on my personal list (likely won't resume), but my thoughts were:

"Le Freak" is the choice cut here, "Savoir Faire" is a smooth instrumental and "Happy Man" isn't too shabby. Classic disco/boogie maybe, but serves better as background music when you get to side B; the ballad "At Last I Am Free" is absolutely dire, and surely one of the most boring songs in the genre.
This seems a smidge overrated to be considered bucketlist listening.

Karma Chameleon is a banger!

These are the sounds of my early years.

Mr George's voice is very good.

Love a good bit of 80s harmonica.

Couple of bangers, everything else solid. Good listen.

You know a Chic album makes you appreciate living an era where they release the club version separately. Most of these songs live on past their welcome as I’m sitting around at home not high on coke at Studio 54.

I am quite surprised with this album, listened back to back with Culture Club, and I'm not feeling it as much as 'Colour by Numbers' but again, this record has a couple of bangers and the rest isn't terrible.

I have a copy of Risqué, and that's the only Chic album I've heard so I'll give this one a listen today.

Joanna and Stevie are 5/5's. Y's is my favorite from her, and Songs is my 3rd or 4th fav Stevie album.

This is me. It’s good and fun but It’s wild that Culture Club is in the same conversation as Stevie Wonder. I guess when they’re reviewing a 1,000 they aren’t all going to be aces.
