This is a very based description. I had a bargain bin copy for $3 in the year I started, but offloaded for the same value about a year later.

This is good. But to me, not good enough. There are interesting segments paired with a few obnoxious ones.

But I do seriously think this is a great album, even though I prefer the next two installments over this one. It has a painstakingly crafted sound that pulls in a variety of instruments to test the range of any system. He's a composer who took the music in a novel direction that was copied to the point that it became cliche in film scores. But for Mike it's about the sonic exploration of a peaceful trip and his focus on making everything crystal clear is something I really appreciate with how sloppy a lot of contemporary composers are on that front.
