The Official Needles and Grooves 1001 Album Generator Project (aka Preachin’ about the Preachers if today’s selection sucks)

Same. I can taste the not quite cold enough cans of Busch Light and smell a bonfire right now
Yeah, I mostly hated this music in real time so while it was definitely ubiquitous (staples or MTV and FM Radio) throughout the late 90s early 00s I do not have the same nostalgia for this as say Dave Mathew’s Band or Outkast or Guster or The Roots. Stuff that we actually enjoyed.

At the time, I loved this trashy nu-metal MTV type stuff. Couldn't get enough Creed, Limp Bizkit, Korn etc. and I hate Dave Matthews Band. Now I'm in my 40's and can't stand all the nu-metal stuff and Dave Matthews Band is one of my favorite artists.

We can’t all be the sophisticated kids that TLK was.
Bro. DMB was the soundtrack to me puking up Busch Light in someone’s backyard while rocking cargo shorts, a pukka shell necklace, a white ballcap with some double entendre college mascot name (Cocks, or Beavers or Moorhead, etc…) and chunky doc marten sandals.

This was not a time of sophistication but at least the music held up a bit better.

Don’t refuse the mystique!

I was a similar age and similarly angry but it was always RATM, SOAD and Slipknot we used to get angry too. I had a mate who’d try to mix in Limp Dick or this prick but we’d always get it off the stereo as quickly as as we could!

Seeing RATM live when I was 17, and SOAD when I was 18, are still great memories…

I didn't have people like you in my life to keep me from going astray.

There's has to be some RATM on this list right? Or maybe Toxicity? There's no way Kid Rock sneaks in above those.

Edit: Nevermind, we already had the RATM self titled.

What am I looking at and what does it have to do with Nu Metal and adjacent bands?

Are we trying to decide which is worse? A puke scented candle or walking limp puddle of puke?

“Paper Planes” is a banger but overall I prefer her debut.

also a “Paper Planes” sample led to this killer all-star collaboration…

It’s wild to think at this point Weezy might be the least problematic that stage but back in 2009 that was something special.
