I like that song. I like the whole album. I don’t love it and never reach for it, never have. It’s sensory overload. It’s kind of why I don’t like a lot of modern rap music. There’s just too much going on.

My first exposure to Gang of Four was actually that album they released in 2004 (or 2005?) where they re-recorded a bunch of songs. I couldn't stop listening to "Natural's Not In It" which led me back to this album.

In all seriousness this is a totemic album.

A bit like Pink Flag this is an album that is massively influential and also where I love pretty much everything that it’s influenced.

Which suffice to say means that I love this too.

My thought as well. Instrumental hip-hop or even a trip-hop album

I’m not terribly far into my first listen, so my opinion could change. Never would have guessed I would ever hear ambient global hip hop. Also would have never guessed I would find it just kind of boring.
