Day 25 - It’s Mardi Gras! Let’s Party!
Spin a record with ties to The Big Easy (New Orleans) or party music

James Booker - The Lost Paramount Tapes

Speaking of Dr. John, here’s former Night Tripper, James Booker. This is the sort of LP that makes VMP special; something I would have likely stayed unfamiliar with if they had never shined a bold spotlight on it. Though recorded in LA the sound of soulful bluesy delta jazz could have only been inspired and created by a Big Easy native. I have only been to New Orleans once but that one trip was magical, I hope to make it back some day soon.

In a similar idea to @CrazyDiamond84 I will also go with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, but this time led by Sweet Emma. Superb stuff!

I highly recommend listening to Jello Biafra's spoken word album below - some is a bit dated being recorded in 1988 - but a lot of what he says is still highly relevant in today's society. About half way through he gets into the actual trial.

New Orleans Funk compilation, New Orleans: The Original Sound of Funk 1960-75

This should cover it! I'm a few days behind but this is the best thing to improve my mood!

Day 26 - I’ve Got The Blues
Spin either a Blues record or a Blue (colored wax) record
Earl Hooker - 2 Bugs and a Roach

I have only really skimmed the surface of the Blues genre but I have found I tend to favor more raucous roadhouse style Blues that makes me wanna boogie a little bit and Earl Hooker offers that up in spades!
