The Roost - All things Animal Crossing: New Horizons for Nintendo Switch

Well I haven’t built out my island nearly as nicely as yours so far! I’ve been moving houses and buildings. I didn’t fully think out where I put things initially. Then I still owe Tom Crook 2.5 mil or whatever it is for my basement. I honestly think I probably have another few weeks of the game left in me once everything is built out and customized more how I like it, then I probably won’t play too much anymore haha. I’ve only done one huge sell so far. This is probably my last huge sell.

I also don’t do a ton of fishing, tarantula farming, etc to make money anymore so turnips are my main source of income.
I feel like they might need to do more updates to keep people from not playing anymore...keep it fresh

part of me is glad that I'm taking it a little more slow and steady so I don't burn out on it too fast.

my bad, I thought your place was already fully built up. I hear ya, I feel the same and am starting to get there now and mostly just try to inventory items and help out family and friends who are just starting their islands up. I’ve always spent too much time playing video games but at least this one doesn’t give me the unhealthy levels of dopamine that things like competitive first person shooters do, so maybe I’ll find new ways to keep it fresh. The game would be much better if the “story” aspect didn’t end so soon, after that it’s essentially just a cheap sims game.

I forgot to ask earlier but I finally got word that my island is having a meteor shower tonight, is there anything I need to do besides press the A button (empty handed) when I see a shooting star? are there and other tips or tricks regarding stars/star fragments that I should be aware of?

That should be it. All of the star fragments should start appearing throughout the day tomorrow. One per wish, although I'm sure there's probably a limit.

Wish for a lot! Also good luck. Hopefully the fixed meteor showers with the last update. We kept getting Isabell saying there would be one and then nothing happened. Even had Celeste show up a few times and no meteors.

Yea. I’ve been having fun decorating and moving things around but agree. I’ve never been someone to have to 100% complete a game so once the “story” is done and I get bored I’ll move onto something else.

my buddy needs fragments to craft things, would he be able to visit my island and wish upon stars and have the fragments show up on his island?

It's ultimately a game you're meant to revisit occasionally for short periods just to relax, collect the new seasonal fish/insects, etc, enjoy the holidays, etc. Half the fun is the real-time quality.

I think the limit is around 30. I had a night last week where I wished on over 200 stars but only got around 30ish total star pieces the next day. A lot were Taurus pieces, so maybe the more you wish the more chances you have of getting the better star pieces? That's totally a guess tho

I just checked the beaches this AM and found about 11 star fragments and one Taurus piece. should more arrive throughout the day or is that it, and do they only appear on/near beaches?

much like @Woob_woob I feel like I wished hundreds of times but only ended up with a dozen star/Taurus fragments

They will continue showing up on your beach after you pick up the initial batch and then eventually dry up and shells will start appearing again

my prices were AM = 42 and PM = 39.

my prices have been steadily declining since last Monday, which already was in the low 80s, so I'm hoping for a big spike this week. obviously I'll let you all know if a big spike happens.
