Since the debut Dry from '92, her discography has been consistently great with a return from this year's I Inside the Old Year Dying. My favorite of hers above.

What is Pavement - Slanted & Enchanted
I love Lo-Fi music. I think it has something to do with the unfussy nature of it all. It all feels very raw and of that particular moment being recorded warts and all. I chose Slanted & Enchanted because is a perfect album I chose the cassette tape as it’s emblematic of the this entire style of music.

What is The Blair Witch Project (Grouper - A I A: Alien Observer)?
The grainy, cloudy atmosphere of this record has it sounding like the cover...a dreamlike sensation that has the listener entranced. If you replaced or "upgraded" the instrumentation with rounded, crystal clear production, it would sound like just another drone/ambient record that would be of typical Past Inside the Present kin. My copy has crackles here and there which I was initially unsatisfied about, but honestly with the defects not being overly distracting, its a rare example where I find defects actually complimenting the LP to add to the experience.
Liz is one of my top10 all time, and I'm grateful that she lives nearby and continues to perform in Portland frequently enough. This copy has a unique signature in that she drew a "star" in the middle of the largest galaxy on the artwork.
