you make me so jealousGlad to hear everyone is up and running. I cannot recommend getting a cheap squeeze bottle enough. Last night I cleaned a load of records, used a lot less liquid per record, and didn't spill a drop.

I've just been rinsing the brush. I know you shouldn't use tap water but I figured just rinsing then leaving to dry is ok.View attachment 65521
You got what I wanted! I’m running school kid water bottle just now. Works ok.
What are you doing with the brush when you’re done, do you just leave it, or are you cleaning and storing it somehow?

I’m just wanting to join in really but I also use one of those types of bottle (think mines might be a cycling one), and after use I rinse the brush quickly under the tap, shake it off and leave it to dry near the window.I've just been rinsing the brush. Making this as a general open offer in here as I've just mentioned it in the Classics thread. I'm on a 12 month VMP sub and, given the next 2 months of essentials looks a bit meh and I don't get R+HH anyway that means that in theory I should be able to grab at least 1 other record a month on one of their other subs. So if on occassion someone should want anything from the RoTM then let me know and I'll try to sort it out. I did one for someone earlier this month (at least will once VMP send me the records) and it was about £30 (which also included my own shitting costs).
Based on the clues I'm guessing there won't be a queue but the offer is there if anyone wants to take it up. I'm sorta time limited though so if there is extracurricular aftersales fuckery involved with VMP I may struggle to get straight on it. Just a heads up
Cheers for this. I might actually show some control here and not get it. I'm sure its a killer session and the poster looks cool, but now all my RSD items have arrived I've got more than enough. I'm hoping the Monk gets a reissue at some point, at a decent price point.@Selaws were you still looking for this? Norman might give you the custard once they see the order page is still up but worth a shot

Cheers for the link though, much appreciated!
Thanks @Thackeraye for telling me about this thread and how some of you boys purchased the Pro-Ject VC-S2! This is definitely the record cleaning machine I want to get, and I’m happy to know you @Rowan and @Selaws have all been enjoying it!
The only thing I didn’t realise is the Pro-Ject VC-S2 seems to be HUGE!!!
Also, I really like your easy squeeze bottle @Selaws! It looks great and I like the aesthetic of it!
There is a smaller one the VC-E - I’m not sure if just size is the compromise tho or if motore is less durable etc etc
If they both cleaned exactly the same way I’d consider getting smaller one.

It’s definitely a big lad. At the end of the day, these things are going to be turntables sized anyway, but it’s a lot taller than I expected.
I’ve seen reviews of the baby version and everyone mentions a wee design quirk - the vent for it is at the top, so there is a risk particles get blown back on the record. Whether this actually is a fault or is the internet hive-mind coming up with an issue that actually isn’t a problem I don’t know, but it was enough to make me question it.
Yeah, that one does seem the same but smaller! I think there is one small issue with it though after reading something on the Steve Hoffman forums. “One thing that's not obvious from any of their promotional photos is the fact that - unlike the VC-S2 and their prior models, which vent from the side of the cabinet - the vent on the VC-E is on the top of the cabinet, between the spindle and the cabinet edge, and vents upward, directly onto the bottom of the record. Accordingly, there were times that I removed a record from the cleaner and noticed condensation on the bottom of the record. It took me a while to figure out that the vent was the source of the condensation.”
For this reason, I’ll probably get the bigger model as it doesn’t have this problem!
