Vinyl Me Please Anthology

Yes, very lucky
Yes, institutionally and individually incompetent
No, QC is mythical to them
No, checks are no fun
No, they are even more incompetent in HQ than saddle creek are.

Yes I think that SC were convenient for VMP. They were the fall guys for poor communication and a mismanaged system. They weren’t perfect but the alternative shipping arrangement resulted in internationals getting burnt and no improvement in packing standard.

Yeah I mean the signs of laziness and incompetence in all departments have been AROUND YOUR MARROW there for a while now...

Now I wonder how long they keep the facebook group open - lots of unhappy liner notes making the rounds today.

"We sent all the records, this experience is finished!"

Why they would keep that shithole active is beyond me. I don't know who is enjoying it at this point. But I guess they figure why not if they haven't put in any effort to guide or moderate it throughout the whole experience, might as well let it keep spinning it's wheels?

I was lucky enough to get both the records and the booklet completely undamaged. That said, I haven't spun either record yet so there's always a chance!

And now they can't blame this mistake on Saddle Creek. But I am assuming the mailer issue will be blamed on Trey, the new intern

Alright, aright,

Yous gots us. We done messed up with the Anthology once or twice but we’s Be trying brah. Think of how luck all y’all yourselves are getting two copies of Wayne Shorter (eventualies, just hold your horses sheeez!) And all y’all yapping about mono and stereo, if the pressing is stereo and the label says mono you can just adjust its by putting one hand over an ear. You should be payings us extra monies for that extra sound channel, some peeps aren’t ever happy.

But we’ve been listening to all y’all on the Facebook group and really appreciate the good feedback for us doing the right thing (Shout out to our totally non-affiliated Reddit fan, boyz you’s is chill AND fresh). Y’all are thinking we messed up on pricing, that giving a $50 discount was way too much for such a deluxe, iconic set. We heard you so next time we’ll add $50 onto it, cuz we know y’all like a premium limited product and we all loves selling it to y’all.

My main man Don Was was Don to VMP HQ (You see what’s I did there) and he told us our box was the flyingest thing he ever seen by Blue Note. This means a lot to us and we hopes you join us for our next box, The VMP Essential Norwegian Metal box where our expert, a little singer song writer y’all are sure to have heard about called Ryan Adams, is helping us curate the 6 most chillin’ bogged out Satanic Death Rock jams. I’m sure it will be a wild ride.

Til next time peeps

Keep spinnin’

;)

I legitimately don’t understand all these errors. I’ve been a loyal VMP subscriber for years. I’ve never encountered issues like this until this Anthology. Have I been extremely lucky over the years before this? Were they always this incompetent? I don’t understand how a company can mess up on this level. Are there literally no checks and balances? Is there no one making sure everything is without errors before deployment? Liner notes in padded envelopes? Do they have a bunch of untrained new hires? This is all so absurd.

Same here. Never had any VMP issues before this. I mean, if everything in the end turns out delivered and OK, (I received a replacement for my damaged box today, which was cool) I suppose I won't be soured by the whole thing too much. It just hasn't been necessarily pleasant. I'm a real laid back cat, not a complainer and generally give a little bit of leeway for mistakes, and understand certain problems happen. However, I got no sympathy for incompetence (shipping those liners in the bubble mailers, for example. No bullshit, that's a fireable offense).

Instead of the feeling of, "I wish this could go on longer," I'm having the feeling of, "I can't wait for this to be over, have my correct stuff, and be done with it." I, obviously, shouldn't feel that way. It's a shame, really.

How my booklet just showed up in a padded mailer of course it was going to get bent and crushed the mailer was twice the size of the booklet. This was the last straw after 4 years I’ve cancelled my subscription. Mailed in a padded mailer twice the size of the bookley, this is just incompetence for a supposed premium product
Wow, that is brutal. Should have been placed between two cardboard stiffeners if they ran out of record mailers.

My booklet and the last 2 albums arrived today. I can see why they didn't put the booklet in with the records. The box was too small for those two albums - it's fine for two records max but this was three records. I got slight corner dings on a corner of each record, but the booklet would have caused more of a problem had it been included in the one box.

Guess I should have been reading the postcards. But there is no way anything else happens in that group once everything gets put out. Community!
