Vinyl Me Please Anthology

Interesting, my shop in Boulder, CO gets them in frequently and they go for $20-30 depending on quality. I bet the newer one sounds great for $60 as well.

At the end of the day, Without A Net is the only one that's hard to find, would fetch about $100 or so. But with all the other albums, you're still talking half of the asking price.
Got it! I had literally been looking for this album all of last week, and kept coming up with either a $45 used or a $60 or so new - so if you have any leads on good cheaper copies, LMK! Otherwise, thx either way!

I already have AB, and I just ordered the Workingman's 50th. I would love Live/Dead and E72, but I would never, ever, listen to Wake or Terrapin.

This is a pass for me, and I consider myself a pretty big Deadhead. TBH, I don't really understand who this is being marketed to. It's too big/expensive for noobs, but doesn't have anything to lure in the diehards. SMH.

If you don’t really like them, then I’d say might not be worth it especially since the price tag might be big...but I have also somewhat unfairly written them off along with Phish and other jam bands but have been listening to way more classic rock and the like lately and have dug the studio albums I’ve been listening to a lot lately. Haven’t made the jump to live albums since I wouldn’t know where to begin...

For anyone that's interested, Phish has been streaming old live shows for free every Tuesday night over the quarantine

I see it now. Didn't bother to check. They have put bad info in there before but I'm betting it's $450 but there will be a day 1 discount to maybe $400/425, then maybe a returning anthology subscriber of another $20/30. If it's in the $375 range for that many discs depending on the podcast/other bonuses I will be interested.

I mean, I've seen them put $0 in there a few times, like Herbie is listed as $0 right now. But my feeling is, they didn't realize someone would pull that site up before it was live, and didn't scrub the launch price out in time. So my bet now is $450 base price, $400 subscriber price. I'd be interested in this at $350, I'd buy at $300.

Super overpriced box, but it is a pretty good (albeit predictable selection). I don't have any of these (with the exception of WD, of which I have the 50th ltd version pre-ordered) so I will probably go for it. I did the Women of Motown and Blue Note sets and really enjoyed the journey around those sets. The podcasts, forums, etc. I'm already pretty immersed in the Dead, but to have a bit of an adventure and narrative around the listening of these albums should be a good time.

agree with the prices you listed. I think most of the boxes have been around what, $27 a disc.

I knew VMP would do something silly with this, but I feel like if it is 450, around even 400 after discount, then they are not going to do well. I guess Storf did pick this stuff, anyone who has listened to the Dead for a while and has followed their vault output would know that this is just lazy. Without a Net is hard to find cheap, and I can appreciate that 72 can't always be found for under 35 or 40, but this is ridiculous. I get that MoFi has released some of these for 40-50 a pop, and you can make that argument. But 1) I doubt these will be as well done sonically, or as far as jackets and QC, 2) a box set should be cheaper than piecing the albums individually, and 3) they are providing nothing new. The podcasts could be cool, but I listened to the Stax podcasts and didn't buy that box set. To whoever gets this, I hope you enjoy and it makes you happy and falls in love with a great band that makes beautiful music. However, I hope you know that there are cheaper more reliant ways to get just about all of this. I know FOMO and hype is the name of the game, but I am almost upset that this is what they delivered and they tried to make it sound special.

This is a total rip off in my book...the rhino releases are all around $20...I’m glad vmp is price gauging this one cuz it saves me from being tempted now

Stupid question and I could probably just google, but what's the sourcing on the rhino releases? They sound decent? I've always been on the fence with rhino.

Same to be honest. I was torn on joining this one but the price immediately takes me out of wanting to buy this luckily. I now know what I will do with the money I was planning on dropping on this...haha
