Just a quick FYI for anyone holding on to anthology preorders that are delayed. I reached out my CC company, Apple Card, today to see if I have dispute options for the Dead box should VMP go under. For my case, I ordered in November 2023.

They said I can still dispute the charge if necessary but that I should reach out to them directly for an update for documentation purposes. I explained the communication coming from VMP, but she advised reaching out directly as it could affect whether I get a refund or not. While their CS is still alive and/or AI driven, if you're waiting for a box you might want to ask for an update so you have proof that they're telling you it is delayed. Some of you may have already done this, or already know this info, but just posting so others can get informed.

Just my 2c. I don't want to cancel but I'm getting nervous that they're gonna go under before this thing ships out.
 
I bailed on renewing my subscription last year when they announced the price increases (something like $55 per ROTM title?... I can't remember but it was a lot).

Good timing, as just a few months later I was laid-off from my job and was glad I hadn't invested any new funds into the more expensive VMP.

I was waiting on one pre-order. I had $299 tied up for nearly a year, waiting on the delayed John Coltrane A Love Supreme box. So I decided to cancel it last month and get a refund. It took a few emails and several weeks of waiting, but the message that got their Customer Service to finally take action and issue my $299 refund was my assurance to them that I would initiate a dispute and chargeback with my credit card company if they didn't generate a refund within 4 days (this was after several weeks of patiently waiting). They refunded me within a few hours of that last email.

I'm fully done with VMP now. I enjoyed receiving the records every month, and many of them were well-mastered and good music, but so much else about the club was stressful and not fun. It really does seem they're going down in flames now, sadly.
 
I had no problem cancelling orders a few months ago, but it seems they're trying to delay cancellations or persuade store credit.

This is what scared me into reaching out to my credit card to see my options. The fact that they are stalling on cancellations at this point has me very concerned.

Call me stupid, but I'm going to wait on one last update for the dead box. If we don't see an update by early February I'm fully bailing on it.
 
They sent out an email on Tuesday that Blue Note is supposedly shipping but I haven't receive a notice yet.

I'm sure there were delays for all their customers because nobody could foresee snow in January, or New Year's Day, or MLK Jr day

They said earlier this month that nothing would ship before the 20th because their logistics partner was doing inventory and would not ship Anything during this process.
 
As like many others, I got that dead box for like $260 + tax. If I paid full price for it I would've refunded it months ago.

The fuse on it being a deal is burning fast, though... I'm about to be $260 in the hole instead.

Hold. I’m bullish on them delivering, and we have waited this long already.

If potentially losing $260 is going to cause some stress or hardship, and you think VMP is going to go bankrupt and not deliver, then request a refund. It would be easier getting it now from VMP than a CC chargeback or dispute.
