So what are the issues with Joel Ross and Eric Dolphy?

I shared this with the Blue Note thread but just in case you guys missed and can answer:

Just looking though and I was able to swap out the Essentials for the Roots, but not Freedom Rider, does this mean they have sold out of classics already? (im signed up to classics btw, just didnt fancy the essentials this month)

I’m thinking it’s a limit...?
Would be up for grabbing two.

Joel Ross is warped and lots of sound issues. Sounds like it’s the same with the standard release also.

I don’t think anyone has Dolphy yet...right?

Appreciate it but I bit the bullet and just resubbed for the 1 month. Then I'll decide later if I want to sell off the older UA version or sell the VMP one after I do an A/B comparison.

I’ve a feeling this press will sound pretty top notch, especially when considering the quality of Classics releases recently.

Well I’m back in for Art Blakey. I swapped Sullivan for the new Whitney record which I was gonna buy anyway and it brings the price down to the reasonable level. Not sure what to do with The Roots yet. Cancel RHH or swap.

I think so too but my old one is a UA Van Gelder stamped copy and also sounds really good. I'll probably sell one off eventually!

'so we sent the original master tapes to get remastered at Sterling Sound, and pressed all analog at QRP again, like the last couple months. This is gonna be an audiophile-quality version of this record. '

I don't think they are sold out of Classics as I just re-subscribed a few minutes ago to grab this.

Kind of weird that Blue Note would allow VMP to pick the plant and pressing location but this will be top notch quality all around anyway. Very excited to add this to my collection! Great album choice too.

I'm in the same boat except I swapped UFO for Daydream. Do I swap for Lightmen or Jorge Ben or cancel... decisions decisions decisions

In that case I think @Dark Star Boogie has it spot on, it must be limited to 1 per person.

For many here, VMP Joel Ross had static and pops. A few had issues with no-fill as well. Also cheap packaging all around (paper inners, flimsy thin jacket).

Dolphy is pressed at Rainbo. That should be all you need to know.
