Can't speak for the 45 version, but I have both the mono and the stereo reissues from the Capitol 75 reissue series and they sound fantastic. I had been listening to that album for 20 years and it was a game-changing experience for me.

Yeah, I had a meh Capital Vaults copy then I found a Carl & The Passions: So Tough/Pet Sounds split 2xLP mono version which sounds pretty great and my go to version if I don’t want to flip sides/record’s a bunch but it is weird that it shares a sleeve with another album. The 45 AP version is flawless and dynamic. Also it comes in a nice gatefold which is a way to present my favorite album of all time. Eventually I am gonna buy the AP copy of Surfs Up but I keep putting it off.

To weigh in here, I personally would rather stream Blue Notes than have the 75th anniversary pressings but I'm a bit biased because I had to return 4 or 5 of them in a row due to awful quality control, warps, distortion and the like. The 80th anniversary pressings are way better so far and still affordable. The Tone Poets are incredible and most can be gotten for under $30 on preorder from Amazon. I'd also look for any Liberty (VG or better quality since even the VG play nicely), King and UA pressings because you can often find those for around $20-30 each and they sound quite nice. I've found a lot of nice sounding older represses that don't break the bank. And I splurge on the Music Matters pressings when either I find them for under $40 or when it's an album that I truly love. For the 75th anniversary pressings, I would rather just hold off and buy another variant of an album, but I understand that it's a good entry point for a lot of people who are trying to get into Blue Note. I just think for a little more money, you can get a much better sounding copy that you are more likely to keep longer instead of needing to upgrade further down the line.

I think I got Our Man In Paris, Free For All, Blue Train, Speak No Evil, Night Dreamer, and Soul Station when the BN 75 came around, and I don't recall anything but them sounding perfectly fine, with Free For All sounding especially good. But I haven't spun one in a while.

I couldn't even play any of the records on my system haha. One was like a roller coaster for my tonearm. I have heard from some people who got records that were in good shape that the sound is not bad on them, but if you compare even to the 80th pressings, you notice a huge difference in quality. Personally, I think you might be better off just streaming the albums until you find a better quality pressing for not too much more, but I also know that a lot of the 75th pressings can be had for $10 or so.

There have been some mixed reviews about them...some people insist that they are cut from a digital preview signal from the analogue masters but others dispute that. Even if so, that doesn't mean the necessarily sound bad. I don't personally own any.

I know the CDs they come with are the RVG CD remasters that people seem to not like. But for the price, the Treasures of Blue Note records might be worth a punt especially if you have one that you think sounds good!

I have a few times, including this past weekend when they had 15% off. As @Turbo said, they are quite pricy, but they are very well packed (double boxed). It was $49 USD shipping for six records, although one was a double LP. Also, expect to pay import fees.

If it's not urgent, I'd recommend waiting until they have a 15% or 20% off deal, which they do quarterly(ish?). Takes the sting off the shipping costs.

Like everyone with ears, I recommend all the Analogue Production titles I've gotten.

Yeah I can't speak for everyone but as I said, mine are fine and sound good. Certainly good enough that I don't feel the need to seek out other pressings for the amount that I spin them.

I have some stuff I'd be happy to offload for cheap. Speak No Evil by Shorter, One Flight Up by Gordon, Idle Moments by Grant Green, Song for My Father by Horace Silver, and Blue Train. Also have a OJC copy of Saxophone Colossus I accidentally bought 2 of and a mono Rhino reissue of Ole by Coltrane.

Yeh I thought that aswell but in this day and age you cant be all that sure.

For example I read an article about a vegan that took her neighbor to supreme court over BBQ smells (he was cooking fish and she is vegan and could smell it).

So in this day and age you can never be so certain.
