Vinyl Me Please Essentials

was because every track from “Play” sounded like a soundtrack for car commercial ad! 😂
I love Play but if I recall correctly Moby DID sell every track on the album for commercial use. It was actually kinda innovative as at the time lots of artist looked down on licensing their music in that way as “sellouts” Moby said, “fuck it” and leaned in to music licensing and he not only made $ off the deals but it also gave his album a ton of exposure which drove sales. It was smart marketing on his part and now the practice is totally commonplace.

he also justified it by claiming his label at the time (V2) was small and he felt this would be of benefit to them (who cares this much about their label?!)

Then follow that up with some Sister Hazel, Vertical Horizon and Pat McGee Band and their conversation to a late 90s frat house will be complete. Name change to Vinyl Me, Bro.

You left out:
House of Pain S/T;
Ben Harper Fight for Your Mind;
Notorious BIG Life After Death;
Cornershop When I was born for the 7th time;
