I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily overlooked as I would consider it probably The Beastie Boys biggest album for people that are not necessarily Beastie Boys fans but due to a lot of it’s juvenile lyrical content (that the Beasties were even embarrassed by later in life) License To Ill is a bit of an afterthought but when I went back and listened to that record again for the first time in years, coinciding with me reading about the making of that album in The Beastie Boys Book I forgot how great a lot of that elemental production was. There is some really interesting stuff on there that I think is taken for granted a lot of Beastie Boys fans.
