Vinyl Me Please Essentials

92 hip hop is going to be Boogie Down Productions "Sex and Violence" their most essential record!!!

Honestly I'd love that over the Beastie Boys, I love the BB's but am happy with my current copy and would prefer they choose one of their later records which I think don't get enough shine!! Even one of their instrumental records would be a better choice than a record that just got a deluxe reissue!!

If it's title and not artist, only other one I can think of is EPMD, but I don't know how likely that is either.

Not sure where the B came from, but Black Monk Time for '66 would work if it's album names
Message from Discord: "As a special treat for everyone about to join this Discord (if you leak it, a hex be upon your name!), I'm here to be your hint maestro: Essentials in Q4 all start with the letter B, but come from 3 separate decades, and genres. Classics is all Jazz. You'll have to wait for Hip Hop and for Country."

That's why I went with Beastie Boys.

EPMD would be great but I could only see them being in RHH not essential...for the record they're essential in my book! It's also a really long book and I may not really know what essential means..

This is my guess too.

If it were RHH rather than Essentials I'd say Bishwick Bill, but I think even for VMP Bushwick Bill would be a stretch to justify in Essentials.

If they did Bushwick Bill for essentials (hell even for RHH) I would hope it's a massive favour to get a Rap-a-Lot anthology going!!! I'm honestly not sure the people at VMP know that any group other than UGK came out of Texas so I have my doubts!!

I picked up a copy of their RollingStone magazine cover for framing purposes (still haven’t hung it up yet though).

too much filler
This was initially how I felt in Junior High. My first exposure was”Sabotage” and was expecting much of the same and obviously that track was more of an outlier than anything else on the album and since I didn’t really listen to any instrumental music at the time I initially skipped over many of the non-singles (thanks, CD’s). As I got into high school and would cruise around my boring ass small town with my buddies smoking weed this album began to click and the instrumental stuff just helped solidify the album as a larger piece of work as opposed to a collection of singles.
