Good to know there might be a better copy out there! I'd take wavy over crackle. That sucks. My 1st lp is a little wavy, but sounds really good so far on Side A

Full update is that my copy sounded great all the way through and the 2nd lp was flat. I’d definitely keep trying. I also forgot how great of an album this was.Good to know there might be a better copy out there! I'd take wavy over crackle.
They are doing two others as store dropsI’m actually a little surprised they aren’t doing Fresh. I think that would’ve been a perfect pick and seems in line with what VMP would normally do.
Don’t think VMP is doing full replacements for ROTM anymore but could be wrong. They have sent me just a sleeve if there was a bad seam split or just a record for replacements recentlyDo I buy another copy of E. 1999 just to have one with artwork, or do I wait until someone gets a bunk copy and ask for their cover when they get a replacement![]()
My second disc is flat and at least off the top is free of crackle. But my disc one side one is unplayable. Massive fast edge warp, even my clamp can't do anything about it. First time that's happened in a while actually.Good to know there might be a better copy out there! I'd take wavy over crackle.
the vpi gods are trying to get you to buy that edge clampMy second disc is flat and at least off the top is free of crackle. But my disc one side one is unplayable. Massive fast edge warp, even my clamp can't do anything about it. First time that's happened in a while actually.
My VMP Shades sounds really good. Lots of low end but still dynamic. Haven't heard the BN Classic to compare but I'm happy with the VMP.Trying to make a decision on VMP Madlib Shades of Blue over the Blue Note Classics press. Cogs reviews seemed to make sense to me, seems KG mastered Shades of Blue like a jazz album for Blue Note and not a boom bap hip hop record and its supposedly lacking in the bottom end and a bit bright up top?
Can anyone back that up, or inversely, is anyone disappointed with their VMP Shades of Blue?
Cicely Boston has done a great job with a lot of the VMP hip hop records, did that continue?

Only have the VMP version, but my review is the same as @marshall . I'm happy with it!My VMP Shades sounds really good. Lots of low end but still dynamic. Haven't heard the BN Classic to compare but I'm happy with the VMP.
Can anyone who has other copies of the Modest Mouse or Interpol records that VMP has done comment on how the VMP editions compare with those versions? I've got an original Interpol and the 2014 Modest Mouse. Both sound pretty good (or about as good as I'd expect these indie records to sound). Did one of those benefit from the VMP reissue treatment more than the other?
I try to avoid doubling up, but I just resubscribed for 3 months and get a free record. I thought I'd get a coupon to use whenever I wanted, but they now require you to pick by the end of the month or miss out. Although there are a few VMP records I want, they aren't available as bonus records. Again, not crazy about doubling up, but I just listened to both of these records today and forgot how much I enjoyed them at different times in my life.
Thanks! I went with the Modest Mouse. Maybe I can do someone who's considering buying the RSD Essential picture disc that was announced today a favor and sell them my 2014 copy. Who thinks a picture disc is a good way to celebrate an enduring classic? Isaac must have been talking to Robert Smith.I have the Modest Mouse 2014 version and the VMP and the VMP version sounds better on my setup. The VMP version almost sounds like a wet blanket was lifted off the previous version. Recommended.
Request a new copy - mine is nearly perfect and it sounds excellent. This Death Cab is the worst sounding album I've gotten from them in a while. Crackle all the way throughout. Not an enjoyable listen at all. Any one have a better experience?
Demand a new copy
Haha Their customer service has always been great, but slow at times. Never had to demand anything, they've always done right by me.FiFY
I did right away. It showed up yesterday but I haven't had the chance to spin it yet to see if it's an improvement.Request a new copy - mine is nearly perfect and it sounds excellent.
