I feel like VMP tries to act like an exclusive small company, but they’re pretty big nowadays. Keeping info like that a secret is just not going to happen. Besides it was always fun to try and guess what it would be - keeping that to a select few who choose to be active on a specific channel is excluding a lot of folks who have no interest in using Discord.

I think what I'm trying to say here is that VMP needs to start acting like a big boy company and doing things mindful of ALL users and not start little cool kids clubs.

I mean not for nothing but they created this place by being shitty to their customer base and threatening to shut down stuff if it leaks is stupid and just more of their shitty behavior. They want a community but only a community of fanboys. Discord allows them to completely control the narrative. I like their curation and sub to multiple subs because of that but beyond that ZERO loyalty to them because they have shown ZERO loyalty to us.

Wow, there is absolutely zero albums that I would pay $50 for that I don’t already own. They’ve added 2 additional tracks and it’s still the weakest quarter maybe ever?

Meh.. there are multiple albums I would buy for a lot cheaper than their entry ask. I will probably pick up Charles and Herbie in addition to the Classics, Country and Dolly of which I am cool with all selections

I mean, to each their own. It's not TERRIBLE, but there's nothing that truly gets me excited. Just things that I'm like "Okay, I'll pick this one up". There's no "wow" factor for me I guess.

I'm not sure Wow is what I ever looked for from them. The most wow stuff they have ever had hasn't done well for them and is stuff I straight up was unaware of.

im feeling really uncomfortable about the stuff on the discord being leaked... a lot of work on that discord was done to figure out that information and they were very blunt about it not being passed around... specifically for people stealing the hard work being done on the discord and claiming it as their own.

im kinda scared about being one of the baddies here, there isn't any hate on N+G in the discord and i still want to talk to you guys and have fun, but there is a lot of this kind of stuff that makes me feel honestly nervous about it all

You do you Dukey. You are always welcome here we love having ya but if you don’t feel comfortable here you don’t have to come around. We aren’t beholden to VMP or their Discord rules.

also honestly the quarter just seems OK outside of rock... i like the ray barretto album and maybe ray charles but sextet is the only album thats a real go getter this quarter.. im still getting the records but its more because im on a 6 month sub so they aren't that expensive to me

I doubt many on here really give two shits about what’s going on in the Discord other than for release info that VMP stubbornly chooses to only release in there. I also don’t think Discord really cares about N&G for the most part either.

Maybe I'm wrong, I'm not on Discord but isn't it just some users that compile it that don't want the spreadsheet passed around? It isn't VMP or anyone associated with them is it?
