Remember when GMP used to be like clockwork? Could set your watch to it.
I don't get how it went from at the end of a quarter, on all socials and fun to... whatever this is.I remember when I’d used to be a month long thread on a forum that one of us would run…
Someone got tired of doing it?I don't get how it went from at the end of a quarter, on all socials and fun to... whatever this is.
That is what I was thinking. Getting harder to stoke FOMO when you are putting out 5 "important and essential" a monthThe hype is more important than the reality?

Acid was great, but more a classics pick. Bone Thugs was also fantastic, but essential? Marginally. Sly was definitely essential, I'll give them that. It has been my least favorite track as of late. It’s difficult to see what they’re doing with that essentials lead track anymore too. It doesn’t make much sense picks wise at all of late.

Probably time to retire the essentials track to be honest. I imagine it's almost impossible these days to score an exclusive that's truly "essential". Think Willie is the closest out of the next quarter but hard to be excited about any of them to be honest. I'll likely grab Labelle too but again, it feels like a nice classics pick.Beyond even zeroing in on individual picks and their merits 2023 and the first 3 months of 2024 just doesn’t feel all that impressive or desirable as an overall body of work.

I got this copy during RSD in 2012.So Here’s Little Richard. That’s pretty cool and a record I want.
You can find excellent OGs for cheap last I looked. Mine was like $5 at half-priced books. If they did a non picture disc Songs From the Big Chair I wouldn't be angry. I'm pissed that the PD is in my collection and would like it not to be there.
That’s cool, looks like price of entry on that one these days is $45I got this copy during RSD in 2012.
It’s good enough for me.
Ah damn, I stupidly trusted the “6 for sale from $25.57” I shoulda known better. That’s cool, looks like price of entry on that one these days is $45
It was from Canada… so um after crazy shipping… cheapest by half of the rest. I was excited till I hit through.Ah damn, I stupidly trusted the “6 for sale from $25.57” I shoulda known better.

Nice! Unfortunately, have no way to spin 78s. Do you have a dedicated turntable or is there 78 setting on your table?I have a handful of Little Richard 78’s. Those things absolutely rip.
Most 78s you need a completely different kind of stylus for.Nice! Unfortunately, have no way to spin 78s. Do you have a dedicated turntable or is there 78 setting on your table?
I guess I will never be able to spin this one then. Most 78s you need a completely different kind of stylus for.
