Got a feeling it’s gonna be License to Ill. Came out in 86 which would make Classics be a 1968 release, which also feels right.

Kind of mixed on this because cool it’s great to see BB as a ROTM, but License to Ill is probably my least favorite album of theirs.

I was more refering to the song Dumb Girl being not their finest moment as I think Raising Hell truly fits the clue about being one of if not THE most important rap albums of all time!

No worries! I reread it thinking, did I just shit on one of my all-time favorite albums? The first cassette I bought with my own money and the reason I started listening to rap music in the first place? Turns out it kind of looks like I did! LoL

I really hope its not Licensed to Ill. With the first clue being "maybe the most important rap album of all time", this one didn't even cross my mind.

But it's kinda looking like it might be...

I'm thinking Run DMC's Raising Hell is still in contention "Dumb Girl" and it would still be the 1968/1986 years, which do sound right here.

FWIW, I think it's easier to argue Run DMC as being the most important ever than with the Beastie Boys.

I have two copies of Raising Hell, because of the color variants of the sleeves. So I'm not getting a VMP reissue, even if it's on colored vinyl.

I'm a big ol' meh on mid 80s hip hop. I don't really care how important it is. At least go to 87 and give me some Rakim if you're going to say one of the most important albums of all time (still a stupid thing to say).
