He used to come in to the Fridayās I worked at about 15 years ago and buy coke off of one of the bartenders. Apparently he had relations with one of the younger female bartenders there also. Same deal she was like 18 and had a thing for celebrities, he was super friendly to everyone.Oh god, is Coolio the front runner?
I had a weird experience with Coolio. When I was at Uni he did a gig at our campus and at the end went to the bar and chatted to people. He was super creepy to a few of my mates (girls). One of the guys were chatting to him saying he recently learnt how to play Gangsters Paradise on his guitar and Coolio said he would come to the house the next day for a jam session. So the next day we were at the house not really expecting him to turn up....but he does. He cooks up a massive meal for everyone, drinks a bit, then jams out to Gangsters Paradise.
Now for the creepy bit. The guy must have been 50 at the time, yet we later realise that the reason he turned up is that he wanted to sleep with one of the girls (and I know that saying this is awful, but let's just say she was known for not holding back when it comes to such things, especially if she could say it was someone 'famous'). She was around 19-20 at the time. Coolio was around 50. The guy seemed nice but that's still very creepy to me.
90s ok so specific clue thanks StorfThis is a not a clue.
He calls this monthās ROTM one of the best albums of the 90s, and he has a Camāron shower curtain (?!); could it be Confessions of Fire?90s ok so specific clue thanks Storf

First gig I ever saw. Coolio live in Dublin 1997 I was 12 lol I had a ball. I already had his first 2 albums on CD from a young age, bought his third My Soul cd at the gig. Got My Soul on vinyl now too. I would like It Takes A Thief & Gangstas Paradise on vinyl for the collection. His albums are a lot of fun to me maybe because I loved them as a kidIsn't every Coolio single a cover of a Lakeside or Stevie Wonder song... didn't get the appeal then and still don't

I respect that. If i got to to choose the ROTM Coolio is nowhere gonna be anywhere near the top of my own choosing for sure. Just if it happens to be him I wouldn't be mad personallyCool.
It's equally mundane and trite hip-hop to me.
There are a thousand hip-hop albums of greater cultural and musical importance to me. Coolio would be another lazy VMP RHH choice imo.
100% agree! Coolio could be a store exclusive but none of his albums should be a R&HH ROTM!Coolio would be another lazy VMP RHH choice imo.

Did you know Coolio has a cookbook? Cookin' with Coolio: 5 Star Meals at a 1 Star Price I brought it to a White Elephant gift exchange at my work a few years back. Maybe we'll get it as a bundle with Gangsta's Paradise.Gotcha! I wouldāve been asking him so many weird questions if he was happy to chat!
Omg, and the Coolio cooking and dancing wouldāve had me going āyaaaas kween! Dip it low Coolio! Work those damn hips daddyā
