Vinyl Me Please Rap & Hip Hop

Yes and honestly if you've gotta Shibata cart like myself you can expect that right channel crackle/bass distortion to go pretty much through the entire first two sides of the album. Every copy.
Yup, doesn't even need a high end cart either. Was on a Wu kick after watching "An American Saga" (seriously great show despite being highly fictionalized), and put it on for the first time on the new TT. Noticed a lot of noise on side b I didn't before.

Yeah man, I think honestly it's on all sides to a degree. But there's two different issues going on. There's the beginning of side crackle, but then there's also this right side bass distortion that comes and goes throughout most of side A and B and may even show up on C and D. That one isn't quite a noticeable but it's definitely there.

Remind me, what TT/cart do you have now and what did you have before?

It's more substantial in every way to the 60 including the cart, so not surprised I'm hearing it more.
Oh, new cart. Yes that would also help. I'm always curious what pressing defects are picked up by what gear. Because for stuff like this Wu I can't understand how they didn't get enough complaints to recall. I don't know if people just don't know the album enough to know what noise should be there or what. I'm still hoping this gets a second pressing but considering how average the second "corrected" ATliens is, I'm guessing even a new pressing of Wu wouldn't fix the issues. I think it's a bad lacquer or plate or master or whatever...

Yeah sorry I banged out that message and didn't include any specifics. The 60 uses the ATN3600L cart and there's pretty much no deviation from that, and the 120 out of the box uses the ATN95E with upgrade options. The upgrade is noticeable in picking up GZ fuckery, but side A on Wu was bad beforehand, now I can tell side B was pretty fucked as well. I didn't notice anything on the second disc.

Checked the Wu album again and the noise is there. Its just a lower frequency and sounds like a noisy record and not like static like the other 4 copies. Much less distracting but still noisy.

Man, I held off on buying Liquid Swords because I thought "it'd always be around, it's a stone cold classic", and after paying $70CAD for the only copy other than the 4x7" I could find, VMP has a perfect opportunity to get some memberships next quarter. Do it VMP.

I would also accept Gravediggaz 6 Feet Deep.

In my top 5 of all time. The Marvel cover showed up for less than 20 a year ago. Was surprised they were going for so much. I would buy again to have a nicer version. Maybe 2lp 45rpm with BIBLE. Already have the instrumentals disc.

Yeah, even the Marvel cover version seems to be gone and the discog prices are insane right now. I'm not even sure the one I ordered will ship, but it's through an Amazon seller so there's that protection in place.

I can't even fathom that there's a debate on twitter over the past few days over its greatness as a Wu album. Personally I put it right below OB4CL (and above Supreme Clientele).

EDIT:
Actually, my ranking is wrong.
36 Chambers
OB4CL
Return to 36 Chambers
Liquid Swords
Supreme Clientele.

That's it, that's the top 5.
