Vinyl Me Please Rap & Hip Hop

Sorry the "working on" was apparently entirely my invention. It was in response to Mike asking him what he wanted people to look out for that he has coming up. His exact quote is "I have some liner notes coming out for Vinyl Me, Please. It's the liner notes for The Coup's Genocide & Juice."

He then goes on to say that he "just completed the liner notes for" Labcab. So it probably was recorded a while ago and that makes it sound like he may have had the Genocide & Juice liner notes completed first. I guess we'll see.

Either way, Genocide & Juice is an amazing pick.

On today's episode of Open Mike Eagle's podcast, Secret Skin, Dave Ma said that he's working on the liner notes for The Coup - Genocide & Juice for VMP. 👀

*Highly recommend the episode if you are a fan of Open Mike Eagle's album Dark Comedy, it's a deep dive on the album.

Either way, Genocide & Juice is an amazing pick.

This was reissued last year for a super limited run (275 copies) so this would be an awesome pick! I just picked up Kill My Landlord on vinyl, and that would be a nice store exclusive too (or Steal This Album or Party Music).

Can someone tell me if there is an intentional clicking on the Outro - Rest in Peace on Gravediggaz? I've had clicking on the outro of a couple records (like Gram Parsons) lately and want to make sure before I contact them.

I don’t recall clicking. You could give the digital version a go if you think it may be part of the production.

I'm spinning through the top and bottom of each side of each copy as we speak.. I'm through one so far and I gotta say, it's clean and I'm shocked...
Of the 3 ROTM’s I picked up this month I think Gracediggaz might have sounded the best.

Sorry, I decided to leave it “Gracediggaz” in hopes that my typo would be taken as divine inspiration for the name of the next big Christian Rap group hopefully in time for them to play the 2023 Cornerstone festival.

Update: Bummed to discover after googling “Cornerstone Festival” that the beloved Christian Music Festival ended in 2012.

The Christian school kids that I detasselled with in the corn fields of Illinois would proudly display their Cornerstone bracelets on their wrist all summer long.
