Vinyl Me Please Rap & Hip Hop

I do hate to say it, but the VMP Phoenix from the original analog tapes does sound so much better than the other pressing they sold me three months prior, but I do get and agree with the point you were trying to make. Camp Lo is probably a better example.

That's good. I didn't realize they did it from the original tapes. I liked Camp Lo as a pick, though. Just because it didn't feel quite as obvious as a lot of them and I figured a lot of subscribers might not know it that well

this album widely available for much cheaper than VMP is offering it

Lol, this should be the accurate tagline of the RHH thread. Unless they amp up the pressings or mastering (which they often downgrade) it's a struggle for me to justify this pick as well. I think they really should stick to stuff like the 400 Degreez or 3 Feet High picks where there literally are no competing in-print pressings so the gaps in quality and hike in price feel more tolerable.

if Skull Snaps is a swaption I’ll scoop it. Will probably finally cancel otherwise. No disrespect to Hud Dreems, but I don’t need a $27 pretty to look at variant of it. Now if they added a bonus 7” of some folks rhyming over some of these beats..
mmmmmmm! Let’s hope we get a 7’’ or something similar that will make this VMP exclusive stand out from the standard pressing (apart from the colour)!

If Skull Snaps is an option to swap, I’ll swap Sleater-Kinney for it if it’s available! If not, then I’ll just have the Knxwledge and The Isley Brothers ROTM’s!

Skull Snaps is the only thing in the store I really want! But it’s just a bit pricey at $32 for an album I’m not as familiar with, but I did really dig it when I previewed the album on iTunes :)

So as much as I want to finally swap to get Queen Latifah or Living Legends.....I'm in a totally different head space at work and I feel like Nihls Frahm - Spaces may be the pick for me this month. I have no classical piano music on vinyl at the house, and I'm imagining myself constructing then burning a nice paper and plant based product whilst this spins in the background, and i'm sold i believe.

Add Classics and Essentials and swap the ROTM’s to Queen Latifah and Living Legends ! It’ll only be $23 each if you do that! An absolute bargain for those two exclusives if you ask me! 🙋‍♂️😊👌

I was going to grab a cheap copy of Nihls Frahm on Discogs but instead I got it from the PIF thread on the old forum. It sounds great!

leaves a
Also hoping for a Skull Snaps swap, plus Isley's if it's indeed that, and maybe Mavis Leaves me with a lack of rap this month though

Lol dang... That Skull Snaps album is in the discount bin at my local store. I think it's 8.99 brand new. Over the weekend our Norman, OK store was having a sidewalk sale and I could have gotten 50% off. I chose to get Tomorrow's Modern Boxes (first release originally 49.99) for about 12 and How to Destroy Angel's debut LP for 9. Oh and I picked up Anima.

Anway sorry to brag. I just thought it was funny because of how much VMP is charging for it. I might just go get that copy for myself. It's been sitting there for a long time.

But but but it's a huge crate digger album!! It's so hard to find!! You NEED it!! Everybody NEEDS it in their collection!!

The final hint:

Essentials is the 9th album from the group featured.
Classics is the 15th.
Rap & Hip-Hop is the 50th, if you count most of their releases as "albums"

Hud Dreems is 50 based on the wiki list (which includes stuff released under different names and bootlegs). Only 20-something going on the Knxwledge RYM page. No idea what the real number considered by fans is (seems like it would be a hell of a feat to be sure).

The guy is very active creatively, or his work could be somewhat derivative. The answer is probably a combination of both.
