Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Man, I'm just now reflecting how close I was to missing Skull Session, haha. I made a point to set my alarm to wake me at 11:45 as I've been sleeping to about 12:30-1 p.m. these days (I work nights alright?)

I then saw the link was live through a post on here around 11:58, spent a few minutes reading the magazine article and glancing over at the other VMP new releases, went and found a link to give to @MikeH, went back and re-read the details page before finally clicking that "Buy" button, and since I don't have a speedy checkout option selected spent another minute or three logging in, selecting my Paypal payment method and shipping, before finally officially getting Tina'd at 12:09 p.m.

Judging by the comments on reddit, it sold out by 12:11.

They closed it after Skull Session sold out. I can't check stock on the other two now.

You'd think that, even if that route was open to purchase as a non-member, they should be able to limit the amount of copies purchased.

lol of course it was probably like, literally a single option that needed to be checked/unchecked in their Shopify settings. Something that they could've done in 10 seconds at any time but it took another Still Woozy-ish situation before they actually bothered.

Edit: As silver lining, I wonder if they can then go back and at least cancel any potential flipper orders which might result in a few extra copies coming back into the mix at some point.
 
What is this company doing..

Just checked my orders and Bella Donna has now been randomly swapped for Phrenology. Phrenology was the pick I signed with last month but never received. I never requested it as a swap this month. I just mentioned that it hadn't been received and then they added one to my orders. That was like two weeks ago. Now there's two there with one overwriting Stevie as my swaps.

This just happened today..

I just woke up and am a little bit devastated I missed out on the Oliver Nelson! I previewed the album yesterday and really enjoyed it and the colour variant from the mock-up looks spectacular! Really wish this one didn’t sell out so quickly! 🤷‍♂️😩
 
And yeah, I really, really, really want VMP to do an exclusive of Eugene McDaniels’ “Headless Heroes of The Apocalypse”! I absolutely love that album! I remember discovering this album because of A Tribe Called Quest sampling the track “Jagger The Dagger”, and my goodness, is Jagger The Dagger a magnificent song!!!

Eugene McDaniels would be such a great Classics ROTM! I really hope VMP give it the Classics treatment! Would be awesome to get an AAA pressing of Headless Heroes of The Apocalypse!

Like I randomly woke up 15 minutes ago! It is 4:30am right now! If there’s an exclusive I know that will be dropping that I think will sell out, I’ll set my alarm! ⏰

But I didn’t know when this exclusive would be dropping, yet alone that it was going to sell out so quickly! BUT OMG.......😩😩😩 I reply wanted this Oliver Nelson exclusive! I love that opening, title track! It’s got such a dense, hypnotic, semi g-funk, electric, distorted funky sound to it! So much energy in the musicianship of this album! And the colour variant looks so freaking nice! 💎

I never expected it to sell out this quick to be honest. I was fortunate enough to get a copy without even seeing the pressing numbers, im guessing it was low? You never know buddy, there might be a few more they put up like they have in the past after a 'sold out' record. Fingers crossed.

Even though I wish I purchased it, i don’t care too much about missing out on Skull Sessions to be honest. Colour variant does look incredibly good though! Something I cannot miss out on however, would be the Herbie Hancock Anthology Boxset (which contains 8 Herbie Hancock albums in there). Like, that’s something I really cannot miss otherwise I’ll be like “😡😠😡😠”! Nah mean!?!?

I just know I won’t get it if it comes back in store as I’ll be asleep. But yeah, happy for everyone in this forum who got a copy of the Skull Session 👏👏👏
