Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Count me in for the Piñata scoop alongside Rappcats Bandana.

On my end, Piñata was available just before 10am, but it looks like some folks were able to scoop the bundle a few minutes before. VMP chasing the bundle hype this AM?

I'm not sure I follow you. When they announced the records yesterday, I'm pretty sure every one of us assumed it would sell out quick. VMP also believed it would sell out quick and said so in their announcement tweet at noon. It then proceeded to sell out within an hour.

What's the problem?

Fuck, I never want to travel again! If I was in Australia, I wouldn’t have missed out on the Piñata exclusive 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

And I had the Piñata exclusive on my mind all day, thinking about it maybe once every hour...

The colour variant looks THAT good for Piñata, like........I really need it!!!!!!! 😩

You know how I really want the Justin Timberlake FutureSex/LoveSounds VMP exclusive? Well, the VMP exclusive for Freddie Gibbs & Madlib’s Piñata is equivalent and I’m actually so sad thinking about it now.

I know it’s so ugly of me to look so greedy in a materialistic way, but I can’t help it! I just love Piñata so much, and my sister loves that album even more than me! We would be going wild and would be starstruck just pulling out the vinyl from the jacket. And then spinning that gorgeous looking pressing on the turntable would be pure joy for us.....

And now I’m just thinking about how I have so 3 VMP boxes and 3 different VMP Anthology parcels in my room and it’s pissing me off thinking about how some of them are going to be defected. But I wouldn’t care if I secured a copy of Piñata 😂😂😂.........🥺🥺🥺

Actually you know what??? Screw it!!!

I have a copy of Piñata anyways and I need to grow up and stop acting like a spoilt brat. I’m already spoilt in life and we can’t all have everything our way!

I don’t need any exclusive really. Being materialistic is so unattractive anyway so I might as well try and look less ugly, right? 😂

Plus, I love food and travelling, so the money can go towards that, or even someone who’s homeless and needs food. So much homeless people nowadays, kind of sad when I think about me getting annoyed over missing out on an exclusive variant of a record.....

I think all travelling is very good for me. But being here is definitely doing me good! I mean, I’m at Lake Como and it’s just so beautiful the area of the lake I’m in and I’m just thinking to myself......why am I being so immature and greedy and materialistic when I’m so lucky to be staying somewhere that’s so beautiful and has a lovely ambience 👌

I am so lucky and I always need to remember that! I can’t wait to go to London and go crazy and to meet up with a friend in Beirut afterwards and go to the beach and enjoy the nightlife! 🏝

I have so much in exciting things in life already to look forward too anyways!!! 😃😜

No Beirut/Lebanon is my last destination!

So in London, this is what I’ve got planned to do. I’ve only got 9 nights there, so not much time 😅🙈

Parks - Hyde Park/Victoria Park/Greenwich Park/Regent’s Park/Hampstead Heath/Clapham Common etc

Ethnic Neighbourhoods - E.g - Visiting Southall and eating Indian food and just chilling out in the area or going to Brick Lane and having eating Pakistani food. I want to go to a lot of ethnic neighbourhoods in London!

Iconic neighbourhoods - Camden Town, Shoreditch, Brixton etc

And I’m going to a few gigs. Joel Ross one night and Christian McBride/Patrice Rushen the next night. I also really want to catch Gilles Peterson doing a set somewhere!

I haven’t looked into record stores though. It’s so overwhelming because London is so big 🤪

Ohhh......and I’ve saved a lot of takeaway places and café’s near my hostel, so I can go eat there too! Food is still #1!

Sounds great! Have you been to London before? If not make sure to do all the ridiculous touristy things too! I always love a day on the hop on hop off open top tourist bus getting photos and going to places like the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London and all that jazz haha!

First time in London! England will be my third European country I visit, after Italy and Greece hahahaha

Yeah, I know London has great museums and is a great city to do all those touristy things...but all that doesn’t interest me. I am not a history person or museum person and I’d like to go on the London Eye, but if it’s going to be a long wait for example, then I can’t be bothered! 🙅‍♂️

I guess me going to well-known neighbourhoods like Notting Hill or Brixton, going to all the markets and visiting those loved parks will already be ‘very touristy’. I think everything I’m doing (maybe except from visiting a lot of different ethnic neighbourhoods as that will require me to catch the train into the outer suburbs), will be touristy! 💁‍♂️

I want to know where to go for funk, hip-hop, jazz! I want to get the best out of London for the vibrant and massive music scene they offer! 🤗

All you Londoners or people that have been to London! How did you or how do you immerse yourself in the music scene? 🤔
