And this delay is because the first time it got delayed we said "it will be delayed until X" but there wasn't actually any basis for that estimate

I guess you could call 'em fancy or hip? it's short for "magazine" and usually was a fan printing or privately pressed version of one of those. think a magazine printed by an art collective instead of conde nast.

some are small and closer to a pamphlet, some are glossy and full color. they've been around for nearly a century, but really found their footing in the 70s-90s with different counterculture groups.

Zine is short for magazine, but colloquially refers to a self-published periodical (a newspaper or magazine) and was probably most prevalent in punk/hardcore communities and generally leftist political entities. People don't make them as much anymore because - the internet - and nobody reads things. If you were born in the 90's or later, or weren't in cities very much growing up, you might not have experienced them

Gotcha. Glad they're saving all that time by shortening magazine.
