Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

FML, I completely spaced and forgot about this. I even signed up for text notifications from Saba and got the password early, but never check my phone

Last time people thought this, they ended up missing on the only Chance the Rapper pressings.

I remember that it came out that VMP was the company pressing them, and people decided not to purchase through his website. Long story short, those people never got the chance to buy the records.
Yes, but those Chance the Rapper albums were available for more than 2 minutes. If they were doing a repress, they should have opened orders for a period of time and then pressed to demand like they did with the Chance albums.

It’s so interesting to me that there’s so much passion and fervor for this Saba album. I’ve listened to it several times, trying to figure out what I’m missing, but it just doesn’t jump out at me. At all.

It’s not bad by any means, but I don’t get the level of hype.

Yeah he does nothing for me but to each their own. I am glad at least a few people are getting a chance to pick it up.

I have never heard of any Saba fans outside the VMP universe
He is pretty big. I don't really understand how it happened, but he has a shitload more streams than all the underground rappers I'm into, and they have more albums.

But that explains the resell prices and why this sold quick. For him to act surprised it went quick and not have pressed a ton more is a headscratcher.

I dig Care for Me and was happy to get it for $27. I wouldn't spend $50, personally.

He has a very accessible sound and the production on a lot of his songs are pretty great! Performance wise, he’s an average rapper for me though. He’s affiliated with Chance The Rapper and Noname and was part of the Chicago revival rap/R&B scene! Care For Me is his best album so far, which has a minimal, clean and contemporary sound! It’s a tastefully executed album, even though it’s quite a dark and depressing one. I dig Care For Me but I don’t love it. It’s a 6.8/10 album for me! The VMP pressing does sound excellent and it does make for a excellent moody, late night listen! 🌑💫

I’m also happy I paid only USD$23 for the album and I also wouldn’t have paid USD$49+ for the pressing! If Care For Me was a R&HH ROTM now, I probably would’ve just have been ok paying paying USD$36.30 for it!

y'all gotta go listen to ComfortZone, in my eyes its his best project and was the mixtape that put him on the map and made him his own contender in the Chicago scene. Also helped that he was plugged with Chance, Noname, Vic Mensa, and Mick Jenkins but I think he's incredibly talented. Great lyricist who raps his heart out about real shit.
