S/T and Struttin’ have MOV pressings too. I grabbed them last year after finally giving up on finding clean OGs for a decent price.

They sounded pretty good from what I remember. I never grabbed the MOV Rejuvenation because I was still holding out for an OG (that one shows up more frequently at reasonable prices). I’m probably in for the VMP.
 
honestly... tenacious D is frat music...

but its the good kind of frat media... where its crass and juvenile but it doesn't seem creepy or rapey or criminal...

its not worth 36 bucks though even if the prices for the MOV version on amazon are about that price

Also, part of the joke is that they are overly crass and juvenile. JB and KG are in on the joke. Did you ever watch any of their HBO show? It’s stream on HBO Max I believe.

not really... and i dont have HBO Max anymore because my parents never watched it and 15 bucks a month (would you ACTUALLY buy an ad supported version) when i'd only watch like 3 or 4 shows wasn't a good value

also one thing i noticed was "wow so many youtube poops used to use the inward singing song... and the up your ass line from drive thru"

Yeah, late 90s early 00s the Tenacious D were pretty trendy amongst college age kids. Same people who loved Mr. Show were also big D fans.

it is honestly funny to be fair... also i just love that i heard that song and immediately noticed the sound bites that were used in YTP i watched as a kid...

(also my zoomer ass at least got lonely island for the comedy group)

Lol I buy the ad supported version! I had the 15/mo but gave the ad version a try and there are hardly any ads. Only thing I don't get is early access to the movies I hardly ever care about.

I don't know, a fiver isn't a lot but if I took that attitude w everything in my life it adds up. Id rather invest that 5 back into myself.

Yeah we had the D and Flight Of The Conchords. Both were great though I think I probably preferred The D just a bit more. I guess We also had Sandler too which was also pretty fun especially as a junior high aged kid.

I'm not convinced that a flat copy of the Jazz Is Dead 2 actually exists.

3 copies, 3 massive dishwarps. I asked CS if it was a known issue and they said it definitely wasn't and that I must have been unlucky with the first 2 warps. Interestingly, it looks like they have swapped pressing plants for the latest 2 in the series (from Precision Records to Pallas) so it makes me think they might have had really bad issues generally. I am just listening to JID 5 and its so so so good, much better than the others with no issues (and its reasonably flat!!)

Did anyone else pick up the JID 2? Was it flat?

That's interesting because Precision Record Pressing is actually owned by GZ. So if they switched away from them... Hmmmm.

But also they almost NEVER say they've had a lot of complaints about issues that are CLEARLY very widespread, so I put no stock in that. I'm waiting on my third Wu and PE and I have no doubt they're going to sound exactly the same as the first 2.

That is interesting. Hmm maybe they have finally had enough of them?

Yeah, I didn't really expect to take them on their word for that. More hoping for a repress if it was as widespread as it seems from the ones I have received. Its only a run of 500 and all 3 that I had are amongst the worst warped VMP releases I have experienced.

Oh trust me, I get it. I've had 2 each of ATliens Volta Wu and PE and they're all trash. But apparently Wu and PE aren't widespread... yeah... sure they aren't.
