Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

Hat bird @Corycm is this an essential at that price?
I’ll probably buy the black version when it comes out. I can’t imagine they got pure exclusivity for this one and the colorway isn’t super important to me.

Essential is a tough call - Waterman is kind of important in the world of blues historians however this one seems to fall in House’s late career. If you’ve got a robust blues collection this one will have a place (this is where I’m at), but if you’re just building a blues library there’s probably more significant places to spend $35.

there's an indie exclusive already starting to be listed (this is just the first one i found--i'm assuming it will be widely available elsewhere):

will have at least one other variant too i believe in plain black.

I do kind of want that Irma Thomas but with a pressing of 2,000 I’d have to expect it’ll be around for a while.
wondering if that one is a VMP exclusive or not. 2,000 made me think that they are the only ones to get it and i haven't seen an announcement elsewhere yet.

Easy Eye (the label releasing it) has a black or an orange marble at $25 (or a Dan Auerbach signed one at $100) so I think it’ll be easy enough to come by at retail. At the $20 range I think it’s worth picking up, @bdm105 unless you’re REALLY married to the splatter.

Edit: assuming Auerbach didn’t eff with the recording/remaster too much. I don’t feel like he’d have done anything weird - he seems to respect the blues canon - but you never know.

Audio Restoration And Mastering By Ryan Smith At Sterling Sound In Nashville, TN.
So I'm guessing the remaster will sound pretty solid.

Yeah, but Auerbach had a hand in production. So you can have the best mastering/cutting engineer ever on it, but if they futzed with the recoding too much it isn’t gonna matter. People have a tendency to over-clean-up old blues stuff. Hopefully he didn’t do that.

Wanting to swap that e-40 for something else. right now I’m between the three 6 mafia, Iris, or Reba. Also mildly considering Ludacris, but not sure if I’m feeling that one yet. Ágætis is a lock for me though
