You can. I just did that. TenderLovingKiller used my link to get me credit. I let my membership lapse bc I wanted to skip January. Then I rejoined with TLK’s referral link.I wonder if you can resub with a referral whilst using your own referral credit
The credit I got with TLK’s link applied immediately when I checked out. The credit I had from TLK using my link did not show up at checkout but was applied in the background before the charge hit my cc. This is what VMP customer service said would happen.

I agree, I keep my VMP albums in their outers to save the stickers. I'd be fine with them getting rid of the stickers completely tbh!
