FWIW, everything I've read about that Great Pumpkin pressing is that it's absolute garbage. Unless VMP has done something outside the norm with it, I'd read some reviews on Discogs and Amazon before pulling the trigger. I was going to bite on the standard black but got turned off by everything I read.

I pre-ordered the glow-in-the-dark variant directly from Craft in July and received it last week. I'm not claiming to have the most amazing sound system, but I haven't noticed any problems at all.

The one thing I think people should be aware of before they order it is that it's not just the music - it's the audio minus the script from the TV special, so it does also include all the foley effects.

Oh nice! Maybe I will reconsider! Maybe the bad reviews I read were related to a few copies with issues and not a widespread thing. It's also very short and all of the music is on one side yeah?

Yeah, that hasn't changed regardless of the variant of pressing - music on Side A and etching on Side B

I am genuinely unsure what to make of the "Cracker Barrel" orange variant but at least it's out there if people want to be sure they get the music before Halloween.

Listening to my Weyes Blood, the one they told me a clean would sort out, and you know what, clean 1 didn’t. Clean 2 did not either. It still sounds like shit. A persistent click through the first few songs on side 1 here. Should I let them off with it or go in and complain again?

Man, every single vinyl retailer in existence is really pulling out ALL the stops for this release. It'd be even cooler if one day they all did the same thing for something that wasn't a pointless expansion on an already middle-of-the-road soundtrack

Seriously though, what's the deal with THIS many variants? This isn't normal, right?

My son was born on Halloween and is into soundtracks, so that soundtrack is definitely a birthday pickup for him this year. I think the Bullmoose version looks the best out of the three.

Got my VMP shipment in today (The Freedom Rider and Saxophone Colossus), and they both sound fantastic. Great month.

However, did anyone else who got the VMP Saxophone Colossus not get a typical VMP hype sticker on the front of the album on the shrink wrap? Mine is missing (although does include stamped number on back).

Good to hear this. Wish the care that was applied to Classics pressings was universal

Got my VMP shipment of Dawes, Blakey, and Paul Cauthen and my Dawes disc 1 is warped. Other two sound great.

Anyone else get a warped copy of Dawes?

Well got Mariah and Room 41. Honestly I’m surprised to report that neither are warped and both sound quite good. At least I can say that I had a good month from VMP

EDIT: Was I one of the first to get Mariah? I’m reading back and I’m not seeing anyone saying they got it...

And funnily this time the record is defective and i’m Getting a refund. Sent in The Comet Is Coming video and same response as said it was a wider issue. Shame they responded differently first time (for them) as I cancelled lots of orders and put them out of pocket more

Wait, what’s wrong with Comet is Coming? I noticed a slight warp with mine but didn’t think it rose to the level of complaining. Otherwise I thought it looked and sounded great

Also when the pressing was sold a lot of the focus was on the quality of pressing. It was disappointing for many expecting a more dynamic listen

I got it this month. Sounds good after first (unfocused) listen and the cover looks nice with the shiny gold text. There’s no insert at all, though, which is weird. Small warp, but I think all the records I have in this gold color are warped.
