Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

As an update (and I like the change of this thread title, btw), I still haven't received a response to my prior email complaining about the poor CS treatment and wanting a refund after two business days, so I emailed again. I'm getting a little salty that a cancellation request is not being responded to, and don't want to get into a war about it with my credit card, but I certainly will do so if they don't respond.

After rereading this, why did they call out 8. If you got 8 bad products, you should get 8 replacements. Especially if you got 8 bad pieces out of multiple large orders.

I almost added a track this month... glad I didn't.

The photo disappeared with the last forum, but last year I got a package that warranted a big box shoved into a mailer. The whole thing was bent and there were multiple albums. They replaced the order, but packaged them the exact same way again. My point is that, I agree with you. If you place a big order and they fuck all of it up, or a big portion of it, then that's what they need to replace

The second follow-up email got a response and it looks like I may have some store credits to use after all the cancellations. Oh well. I guess there will be something to use on non-member items.

I think I might just join with the lady's old account, since it can still do the one month with it, and grab that Outkast. I'm not a massive over the top fan of theirs, to be honest. I mean, I respect them, but I don't listen to the entire discography that much. I picked up what I did in the past because I either traded something cheap for brand new copies (ATLiens and Aquemini) or paid $8 a piece for new copies (Stankonia and Speakerbox/The Love Below). In the end, I'm an ATLiens fan. I like "Elevators." I like the early shit. Unfortunately, Southernplayalistic falls into that category and the only reason that I don't own it already, is because it was missing the tracks that they are replacing.

So... probably gonna scoop that up right quick with her acount, and not renew with my own account which is ending this month, for obvious reasons. Maybe, we'll wind up swapping a side sub for the Veedon Fleece on the way out the door, too, only because she's a big Van Morrison fan and she never speaks up or asks for anything vinyl-wise, as I continue to buy record consistently. Honestly, the only reason that I was still checking in with VMP over the 7 months that I'd canceled my membership is because she loves Fiona Apple so goddam much and I was trying not to miss that being dropped. NOW WHAT BE A GOOD TIME TO FINALLY RELEASE IT.

These upcoming Bongo releases are cool -- that Skull Snaps looks real slick -- but not only do I not want to give them the money for them, but I genuinely don't fucking trust them. I can almost see the warp when I look at the mock ups. Actually, that would be hilarious if they just released the mock ups with the dented sleeves and defects already in them. I'm cool with the black vinyl.

Your points are dead on. Unfortunately, their formula at this point is kind of lazy: Just press variants of Mr Bongo and Now Again titles. Put out some old Staxx shit. Curation-wise, you can pretty much just see what's up with those labels and dig into the Blue Note catalog on your own. We even have a thread dedicated to them and another for jazz in general, so we have each others brains to pick. If you go back and read the interview about EU, you'll notice that Cam mentions contacting Egon from Now Again about the release, as if it was his idea. He also states that, when he did that, Egon told him that they were already in the works of speaking with the label owner to do some Juju reissues. What that means is that, @The_Stoned_Ape ape is not only responsible for that EU album, but likely for VMP doing the Juju reissues by proximity. That also means that VMP probably got a lot of points with Egon, because of @The_Stoned_Ape, since it looked like Cam's idea and as if he was on point in that regard, as far as curation. VMP was given the early exclusive, because of that and it could have only strengthened that connection. The positive view on all of this is that, since it was a forum member that REALLY did that curation, they are still here. We're all still here. Even the curation wasn't all them.

Oh, and if you want to find a bunch of weird shit to look into, go follow Egon on instagram. I use that saving feature to add music to an album on there. I have a number of accounts that I began to trust and, if those people recommend something, I just add it. I've gone back later and discovered a number of things that I've played on my radio show because of that method
I don't wanna boost my ego too much here, but I definitely remember having a conversation or two about Oneness of Juju on the old forums.

I'm trying to go a little easy this month after last month saw me get the Juju bundle, Al Green, Badbadnotgood, Goodie Mob, and Ivy Sole. I'm sticking with OutKast and swapping Classics to Little Milton, while dropping Essentials. So just two records and that's it for me (oh and maybe if the Crumb exclusive ships... I actually have no idea when the Crumb exclusive ships)

Going forward I've got a plan of attack on my remaining swap list. I'm hoping to grab at least one of these per month before they sell out:

Clipse - Lord Willin
The Lightmen Plus One - Energy Control Center
Experience Unlimited - Free Yourself
Wells Fargo - Watch Out!
Eddie Floyd - Knock on Wood
Donald Byrd - Fancy Free
James Booker - The Lost Paramount Tapes

Potential wildcards are if any of the latest Bongo bundle survive to swaps and whatever else is in the pipeline for the months ahead. But last month got kind of crazy with BBNG and Goodie Mob both selling out and me having to scramble. I'm hoping to avoid a repeat of that bit of heartburn.

Apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere (I'm fairly sure it has been), but I haven't been a subscriber for some time. Just re-subbed using a "get a free record when you re-sub" promo link. Thus far I see neither my freebie or my June record in my Orders, nor did I receive any sort of email when I signed back up yesterday. Normal?

I just did the same. The choices for free record were, as far as I can tell, exactly the same as the swaptions, with one exception...Nat Turner was available as a free record option, even though it says 'sold out' in the store.
Yeah it looked that way to me too. I grabbed the Stars exclusive as my freebie. Did you get any sort of email confirmation? Do you see either of them in your orders?
