This one is a bit of a head scratcher.
I have three copies of this album already (sometimes these things happen), I don't think I need a fourth and definitely not for $30.
I only bought the black and red marbled version because it was $22 CDN at my local store.
As you say, the ship has sailed on people needing copies of this and to be honest, this colour scheme is not even that nice compared to the other versions.
 
Yeah, Im normally not one to hesitate on VMPs exclusives even with the recent price upticks. But even though Ive been wanting to grab this album, $30 is aggressive.

Yeah I don't have a copy and want one, but I don't think I'll be going for the VMP one. VMP are killing their own sales from me, as their overpricing BS is making me less keen to buy it from them
 
I'm on the fence with this Black Pumas... I was pretty bummed when I missed the Colemine Black/Red split version earlier this year and I've been keeping an eye on it since then. But, as noted, the prices are just dumb. I don't like the VMP colorway nearly as much, but, the addition of that 7" is tempting

I’d imaging Colemine will repress this themselves soon enough.

Yeah... I have that black & red marbled on clear too and it looks and sounds superb....

Happy it can get more exposure for those that were unaware of this fine record (by that I mean people that are not on this board or that have avoided the Colemine Rabbit Hole thread).
 
Normally I'm quick to say VMP is too high with the pricing, but given what used copies are going for across the board... I actually think this one is ok. Unique pressing. Lowest number count variant. Numbered. Two unique tracks.
Honestly, I'm not going to hate on the price of this one. I think it's fairly priced for what is being offered.

You're saying that price gouging based on secondary market prices is fair?
 
This sudden rise in prices for VMP exclusives feels like what some artists do with a portion of their concert tickets. That is putting them on the secondary market to get what they feel is their far share of what scalpers and flippers are getting. Sucks for those of us who just want a reasonably priced one for ourselves. I think the Sturgill Simpson release is another good example of the price being set with flippers in mind.
