I wouldn't be shocked if they were going to a "send us money, tell us what genres you like and we'll send you something we think fits your interests". "Trust us to curate your box". I think they have been testing the concept with the mystery bundles that have been successful. It's flexible (for them) and mysterious (for you). Helps them move stuff that's sitting and gets them out of some of traps they're in now.

Pressing less and 3 tracks instead of 5 so less choice. Also more people are subbed to essentials than any other track so when swaps open, they are still on essentials. I’d bet more people got neon Indian last month than the other choices so those people are still locked in

I think they are experimenting with a “build your own bundle” feature where you can pick up 2 back catalogue titles in a swap for the price of one month

this is what i was thinking. the bundles have been popular, this is very flexible, it cuts down on warehousing
