Wharfedale Linton 85th Anniversary Review

Was shuffling around a couple carts today so we gave the PLX a little loving this afternoon. Spinning with a Grado Goldv3 into the ZU's and at first the sound was like, hmm, sounds off, but by the time I got through side one and the rest of Aja and then Damn the Torpedoes, it sounded fantastic, which got me thinking about the Linton discussion. I know I've said it's not a "better then" discussion and I'm sticking to that, once my ears got used to the Zu's "sound" again, they're wonderful.

I think an analogy that will work well is this, you LOVE ice cream and your two favorite flavors are Chocolate and Rocky Road, you love them equally, but the Rocky Road just gives you that little something extra ;)

These are both fun speakers.

So which are your Rocky Road??? 😂

Yes! Yes I do! No complaints. I also had floorstanders before them though and it’s a relatively modern apartment so concrete floors and block walls between me and the neighbours, only stud partitions between the internal rooms.
Fantastic, that’s been my greatest reservation with getting these. With my R-51PMs it really feels like I need to crank them to get the desired amount of detail from them. Seems like these reveal much more at a lower listening level.
