Herbie Hancock - Maiden Voyage (1965 First Mono Pressing)

A late night spin. Never get tired of this and it gets better with every listen. I've actually been reading a fatastic book about the Polynesian Triangle and the history of these 'sea people' that would travel from island to island on these epic voyages (think real life Moana). This album could certainly be its soundtrack.

Absolutely loved this track.

I known, right? It sits in the sweets pot between well-thought and rehersed arrangement, and untamed passionate delivery. Also, Jazz is my favorite music genre, so the inventive way in which this track introduces elements of it without losing its authentic flamenco flavor is just sonic bliss to my ears.
